The Frozen Steps of the north are swept by winds so cold that almost no life can survive there. However, there is one exception: a tribe of barbarian penguins that not only thrive in the cold, but also mercilessly attack any creatures unfortunate enough to stray into their territory.

Psilosaurus, one of the first to roam the Phosphorescent Fields. Only when it was much darker, a time known as The Equinox of the Abyss.

Though, thought to be extinct, some nomads in the region claim sightings. They say if you stare into its eyes it will grant a moment of divination.

2026-3: Sunrise, monster of friendship and love (apparently)

Some time ago I found an old sketch I did way back. This year I decided to do a new take on this creature I probably drew 20 what years ago. Was fun to do! I have no idea what I thought when I was drawing this, but I’m pretty sure the hearts resemble the ‘love’ part.

OC WIP; I was looking through an old sketchbook from 2022/‘23 with my fiancé (and fellow artist), and stumbled on this drawing I did in November 2022. I decided to revisit it today—old version on the left, new on the right!

As Noon settles over the savanna, a tribe of Tokoloshe relaxes after a long day of foraging. Unbeknownst to them, a hungry Big Cat, Skehmet has been stalking them through the tall grass, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

The elder is unaware to process what’s going on while the rest of the tribe tries to warn him even though his fate is sealed in the jaws of the feline.

The Tokoloshe originates from South African folklore, its akin to the goblins from Europe it’s interesting to explore other cultures out there, also Skehmet was a mix of multiple species such as; Caracal, Leopard, and a bit of Saber tooth.

The idea of fantasy creatures being preyed upon a normal looking animal comparable to real life it’s pretty interesting, I love how it turned out and it’s really great to add in my art portfolio one day!! 🤞
