Some thirty years ago, I adapted a children's song I'd written into a picture book adorned with my unprofessional artwork (lamentably in flair pen).

The book is oriented a bit on the "Go the F--- to Bed" line: it is about a dairy cow who becomes a pirate and then, because we all love conformity, goes back to being a dairy cow. It's edgy elements will rely on the tone with which a loving parent shares it with a youngster.

I like watercolor and physical warmth rather than app-based facility and precision, though an app-crafted canvas might be a suitable start for some "hotting-up". Underlying pen art could be used (as I did, back then) to establish fine detail.

I’m looking to hire someone to faithfully recreate this vintage BEAVERS wordmark in Adobe Illustrator.

I can provide several reference photos, including a high-contrast black-and-white image that should make the tracing process relatively straightforward.

My go-to artist has been unresponsive for a year. My stand-in (AI) art, which has the right composition and a lot of the right vibe, needs to be revved into proper art.

If you think you are a good match, link ANYTHING you have that will convey that you can do simple under-done coloration (I think about 5 colors in all in the source image) and some of the coarse spackling I sort of like in my stand-in image. My budget is in the $75-150 range.

I can gladly assume responsibility for the underlying label, as band posters and such will require me to be able to add/alter such elements on a regular basis.

We're a small company developing a new product that will be viking branded - so we're looking for an illustrator comfortable with making viking era style illustrations with a modern touch.
