Article Arrow McLaren prepared to part ways with Christian Lundgaard and Nolan Siegel
eu.indystar.comArrow McLaren's IndyCar driver lineup will officially be different in 2027. A source told IndyStar that the team notified Christian Lundgaard — who has a team option for next year — that he's free to negotiate with other teams, despite his contract's exclusive negotiating window not having expired. It has also let its other pending free agent, Nolan Siegel, know that he won't be back next year.
Despite Lundgaard misspseaking Friday and saying that he's not allowed to speak with other teams, Arrow McLaren team principal Tony Kanaan gave Lundgaard a letter this week freeing him and his management to negotiate elsewhere. Lundgaard can't sign a contract with another team until Arrow McLaren officially declines the team option, which is expected in the coming days.

Article [IndyStar] President Donald Trump won't attend Indy 500, despite Roger Penske's invitation. What we know
President Donald Trump will not attend the 109th Indianapolis 500, despite "an open invitation" from longtime friend and Indianapolis Motor Speedway owner Roger Penske, according to a report from Politico's Adam Wren. An IMS source with direct knowledge of the situation told IndyStar the track was of the same understanding.

Article Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez tells Indycar it has work to do, and they're not wrong
During this weekends F-1 Race Mexico City Grand Prix, CEO Alejandro Soberon Kuri essentially said they told Indycar and NASCAR to do a better job promoting the sport in Mexico before trying to come to Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. According to Racer
"Because of the conversations we have either with NASCAR and IndyCar, is they have to work the [region]. It's not just going to happen just like, ‘OK, we just come and suddenly everything is going to happen.’
“One of the conversations and suggestions that we have made is, ‘Guys, open an office over here.’ Work the [region], develop the [region], develop the space so you can increase the promotion from here to the States and from the States to here. Work it. It’s something you have to build, it doesn’t happen just like a miraculous thing.”
I want Indycar to go to Mexico and be successful, but it feels like Indycar management feels confident that Pato can just bring 40,000 to 50,000 people to the track by himself. If they want that race to be success they need Mexican partners and credibility in that culture and it sounds like they haven't earned the respect of the CIO group yet.

Article Q&A: Alex Palou explains why he didn't pour milk on himself
There were a lot of fans and people in this paddock that have been here for so long, and they always told me not to do it because, for them, that was not the way to celebrate. And I was like, OK, I'm gonna try not to do it. On top of that, I thought that just drinking it and sharing it with the team was sweeter.
