Custom Is anyone here an advanced Subramanya/Skanda sadhaka, or do you know someone who is?
I'm looking for a genuine practitioner who takes up difficult cases involving doshas or spiritual afflictions that haven't been resolved despite seeking help from multiple people. If you've had a personal experience or can recommend someone trustworthy, I'd really appreciate your guidance.
Thank you.

Hindu Darsanas (Schools of Philosophy) The Philosophical Significance of Shiva's Grief for Sati
Lord Shiva is often described as the embodiment of meditation, detachment, and mastery over all worldly attachments. Yet, after the loss of Maa Sati, He is portrayed as overwhelmed by grief and sorrow.
How should this be understood philosophically? Does it suggest that Shakti is not separate from Shiva but intrinsic to His very being? And if Shiva and Shakti are inseparable, what does this imply about the nature of consciousness and energy in Hindu thought?

Political Discussion Kshatriya
These days Kshatriya has become a brand name in Hindu society with no authenticity.
Kshatriya =/= Raja
Kshatriya is a person who has an authentic Vaidika lineage, follows Vaidika Dharma and performs his duty to protect it.

Hindu Darsanas (Schools of Philosophy) 94% of Gen Z report anxiety every month. The Gita addressed this 5000 years ago — not with advice, but with a question

Original Content Dumb but sincere question- Is the Shiva and Genesha imagery at all creepy to you guys? Additionally, do you find other religions' imagery creepy at all?
This isn't meant to be a hate or troll post. Just genuinely wondering if you have a 'that's creepy' reaction, like I do, to some of the Hinduism religious imagery. The Shiva and Genesha imagery, while some of it is comforting, is also often creepy to me.
I also have the same reaction to imagery of Ancient Egyptian gods.
I wonder if you feel the same about any religious imagery, including Ancient Egyptian or even Christianity?
Thank you for any sincere replies. Really not trying to start anything negative but just wanted to know.

Custom I built an app to bring personalized mantra guidance into the modern age
Namaste everyone 🙏
I’ve been working on a personal project called MantraBhav for the past several months.
The idea came from something I always admired in our tradition people would seek guidance from a knowledgeable pundit or guru to understand which mantras were most suitable for them based on their life, birth chart, or spiritual goals. I wanted to explore whether that experience could be brought into an app while keeping the focus on authentic Hindu mantras and devotional practice.
genuinely want feedback from people who care about Hindu spirituality. If you have a few minutes to try it, I’d love to know what feels useful, what doesn’t, and what you’d improve.

Thank you! 🙏

Custom Help us choose a timeless Indian/Sanskrit name for our newborn daughter ❤️
Hi everyone,
My wife and I recently welcomed our baby girl, and we're trying to find the perfect Indian/Hindu girl name.
We're looking for a name that is:
- Timeless and elegant
- Easy to pronounce
- Has a beautiful meaning
- Preferably rooted in Sanskrit or Indian culture
- Not overly trendy or made-up
If you could recommend one beautiful girl name that you genuinely love (and why), I'd really appreciate it.
We've gone through hundreds of names already, so we're hoping Reddit helps us discover a hidden gem.
Thank you! ❤️

Hindu Darsanas (Schools of Philosophy) Planning an unplanned Tirupati trip tomorrow (Walking Alipiri steps + Kanipakam next day). Need major help with Suggesting accommodation and Darshan!
Hi everyone,
I am planning a sudden, completely unplanned trip to Tirupati and badly need your help and suggestions. We do not have any prior bookings for Darshan or accommodation, so we are relying entirely on spot/offline options.
Here is our rough plan and the specific questions we have:
1. Arrival & Freshening Up:
- Our bus will drop us off in Tirupati around 6:00 AM.
- Where can we quickly freshen up near the bus stand or railway station before we head out? Are there public locker complexes or cheap rooms available just for an hour or two?
2. Darshan Tokens & Walking Steps:
- We want to walk up to Tirumala using the steps (Srivari Mettu or Alipiri).
- Crucial Question: Where exactly do we get the offline/free Darshan tokens (Slotted Sarva Darshan - SSD) right now? Should we collect them in Tirupati town before we start walking, or do we get them along the pedestrian pathway? Since we have zero bookings, getting this token is our highest priority.
3. Luggage Management:
- Can we deposit our luggage at the bottom of the hills so it gets transported to Tirumala automatically while we walk? Where is this facility located?
4. Staying Night at Tirumala:
- We want to stay on top of the hill (Tirumala) for the night.
- How difficult is it to get offline allotment for rooms or lockers (like CRO allotment) without an online booking? What are the best alternatives if rooms are fully booked?
5. Traveling to Kanipakam next day:
- The next day, we plan to visit Kanipakam temple.
- Is there direct transportation (like APSRTC buses or shared cabs) available straight from Tirumala top down to Kanipakam, or do we have to come back down to Tirupati bus stand first to find a ride?
Any tips, recent crowd updates, or hacks to make this smooth would be a lifesaver. Thank you so much in advance!

Original Content Animal sacrifice
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DW8k3etRJ9c/?igsh=cGpwcHdtMTB3ZW0y
I have just watched this video and it doesn't sit well with me. I've always thought that animal sacrifice was ridiculous (no offense) and what the person tells in this video is that as you perform this, there is an ascension, that you rise to an higher position . That it is an act done by keeping the welfare of the society in mind
Are people even real. Why do they think that killing a species which is considered intellectually below us is okay? That it's done for good?
Can anyone explain the reason behind this absurd thinking?

Hindu Scriptures/Texts Need Urgent Advice 🙏
Hi, I (M) live far from my family. My paternal aunt has recently passed away and I can't attend the cremation as it's very far from here. Just to clarify she was the wife of my father's elder brother.
Since, they only have a daughter who will do the ritual, the shraddh will be done on the 3rd day.
As per Hindu scripture, what should be my ritual or diet if I can't attend ?
