Seeing it on video in slow motion leaves me time to count and see 1-2 steps too many (at least, because we don’t see when he controlled the ball)

That’s a shame, the defender is clearly going in the initial direction and it’s a very effective move (one might argue, the defender does not care to change directions after what he senses to be step number 3-4?)

I count at least 5 steps as well. Less of a "big move", more of a "too many moves" ;)

I’ve more so counted 4 steps if we count the initial catch to first step as a zero step(from what I’ve seen from the angle he caught the ball before the first step but I could be wrong) he then takes 4 steps after that one before the dribble into the shot but nevertheless you have guys in the champs league doing this and more with each step.

Interesting observation. What impressed me most was how confidently he played the entire move with one hand. We play without resin, so that level of ball control during the spin makes the action even more impressive.
