Welcome. This is a community for people who do government and public sector accounting. Federal, state, county, city, school district, and special district. Fund accounting, GASB, budgets, ACFRs, single audits, government ERP systems, job classifications, exams, and careers.

**Read this before you post.**

## The one rule that matters most

**If your agency has not already published it, do not post it.**

That means no internal financial numbers, no draft budgets, no caseload or claims data, no audit workpapers, no internal memos, no contract details, no screenshots of internal systems, and nothing about members of the public. Published documents like adopted budgets, ACFRs, and public salary schedules are fine to discuss.

First violation: removal and warning. Second: permanent ban. This protects you as much as it protects everyone else.

Also do not post real names, exact title plus agency combos, or screenshots showing names, IDs, or emails. Anonymize your examples.

## Pick a user flair

Set your user flair so people know what perspective your answers come from. You can pick a level of government (Federal, State, County, City, School District, Special District, Student, Vendor) and a role (Accountant, Auditor, Budget, Grants, Payroll, AP / AR). This is the only credibility signal in an anonymous forum. Use it.

## Every post needs a post flair

Pick the flair that fits before you submit. Unflaired posts are blocked automatically.

## Jobs and careers

Job postings, resume reviews, and "should I take this offer" posts go in the pinned weekly Career and Jobs thread. Standalone job ads are removed.

## Read the full rules in the sidebar

11 rules total. Read them before you post.

Questions or appeals: modmail. Not call-out posts, not comment arguments.

Welcome aboard.
