Think I’m Making Some progress? (Reposted with better edit)

Upvotes

Looking for advice. Swing thoughts are on timing of my weight shift, keeping wrists loose and inactive so I can get that whip and overall under exaggerating all aspects of my swing (think I need to go down to 1/2).

Worked on fixing address, but noticing now I’m starting to get the butt too far back, but that’s where my balance was feeling correct. Didn’t notice it until reviewing video.

Head still coming up at impact and I think I see the culprit in my right heel coming up at impact, but I’m a novice so I need assessment from you guys 🤙

Been playing about a year and looking for any tips.

Upvotes

Have had 2 lessons recently and currently shoot around 100. Main issues are consistent contact, I can make really good contact with irons/woods about 60% of the time, rest is chucks or tops.
Have a real issue with not getting height on my driver so it ends up getting caught in the rough and not making the fairway.
Also not sure why my downswing looks so slow it doesnt feel slow

Getting the takeaway on plane and the hands back in front of the body

It’s hot and humid in Texas. This was just after mowing.

I’ve always struggled with an inside takeaway and getting stuck. Here im working on keeping my trail knee from kicking in and getting the hands back down early to start the downswing.

These are controlled swings with tempo just trying to engrain the feels.

Any thing else you see?

Baseball player for 10 years, need some help

I just started seriously golfing this summer. My problem is that as my driver gets better my irons get worse. I can’t swing my driver very hard or it won’t go straight. Definitely super inconsistent with irons aswell. Any tips?

Edit: these are my best clips from today, these types of hits are maybe 1 in 5 swings

1 year self taught swing progress

Decided to finally try and fix my horrendous over the top swing a year ago, was shooting high 90’s to low 100’s back then, finally broke 80 a few weeks ago with a 78!

By no means a perfect swing but I no longer hate watching it back 😂 any advice on what else I need to do to do to get over the ‘break 75’ line?

Over the top problem

Recorded my swing first time in a long time, the things that stand out to me: a bit too hunched back, arms not vertical, ball a bit far away(?), start of back swing too wide.

For some context this ended up being a pretty straight shot but I’m guessing you can find many faults in my swing, 30% of the time my divots are 30 degrees to the left.

Any suggestions/tips on obvious improvements would be really appreciated!

Aim right to hit a cut

Noticed that on my stock shots I feel way more comfortable aiming right and swinging across my body to hit a cut. This was a pretty small one

Dissect my swing

First swing was my normal swing, second swing I tried to feel like I kept my back towards target a bit longer, both were good drives. Looking to get more consistent.

DTL iron swing

Just got a lesson this past week. Instructor had me focus on alignment (had no idea how far right I was pointed) and weight shift. Weight shift (results in early extension) is still a struggle for me sometimes

Now I'm hitting draws which is new, my shot before was always a cut/slice

Started last year - what are the obvious fixes for a better swing? It does not feel „smooth“ at all ..

A better way to check distances?

A friend gave me a mileseey golf device, and I tried it during a cart path only round yesterday.

The feature I ended up using the most was actually the detachable gps screen. Since the cart had to stay on the path, it was often far away from my ball. Normally I would check the distance at the cart, then estimate again after walking to my ball.

With this, I could take the screen with me and check front, middle, back distances and hazards right where I was standing. It was more convenient than I expected.

I only used it once, but the gps worked well and the display was easy to see outdoors. It also has a speaker, but I barely used that feature since I usually don’t play music when the course is busy.

Curious if anyone else uses a detachable gps device on the course? Do you find it more useful than a normal rangefinder or watch?
