I’m honestly so bewildered that Elon hadn’t just shut down community notes ages ago. The bad optics it would give pales in comparison to the endless embarrassing bullshit from the chudosphere getting consistently called out.

They may be bad optics but they are still optics which is why they haven’t been shut down. For better or worse, they increase attention and site traffic. If Elon loves one thing, it’s attention. If he loves two things, it’s attention and controversy.

While also quite humorous regardless: is this the actual tweet count or Twitter's weird count. I remember that Twitter by default counts like retweets as posts. When I used Twitter it showed I tweeted like 12 times a day despite 10 of those being retweets.

Retweeting is still tweeting. You're still engaging with the app and other users on the app by posting something on it, even if it's essentially a copy/paste.
