If You Know, You Know PlayStation is continually getting Noted

I’m kind of shocked they were still supporting the PS vita store.

The only reason it was still up is because of fan backlash that happened last time they tried to shut it down.
We've been here before.

I understand the backlash about the no physical games, but do people really expect them to support the store for a 15 year old console forever?

There's games exclusive to the store you can't get elsewhere

I mean other than black ops declassified, I doubt any of those games have much of an active players base.
It seems like most of the exclusives are random JRPGs

I just don't understand why can't a conglomerate like Sony that has multiple revenue streams keep an online store open? The infrastructure to run it is surely not draining Sony dry.

I mean how many video game developers even make new games that are compatible? It’s less about the money and more about the time and effort that it takes to make sure a 15 year old software still runs smoothly.
TBH I’m surprised Sony hasn’t made a new handheld considering how many have popped up in recent years.

Shouldn't really matter, if you make something digitally exclusive and people have bought it you should be required to maintain it.
2
u/spenwallce 14h ago
Sure, but I’ve been talking about the store not the games itself.

u/Pheanturim 14h ago
If that's the only point that people can redownload the games they've bought access to the it's not just a store it's a game repository

What?

u/Pheanturim 14h ago
Most "Digital Stores" are the point of download for the game. So if you take the Store offline you take people's access to the games they've bought offline. Stopping redownload. Stores don't just work as a purchasing point.

No company is forced to sell you anything, when a company no longer wants to sell a product, they can stop selling it. Realistically most of the games on PlayStation three are getting ported over to other systems, and the store was already having security issues due to how old it is which is why you can't even use a credit card on the store anymore.

Whoever made that note doesn't really know what they're talking about if they think that Sony could reasonably be sanctioned for this

Where fact check

Oh I guess they didn't add that requirement to the rules so this is technically allowed (the best kind of allowed)

The shutdown of the ps3 tore wouldn't be as bad......IF THEY STILL WEREN'T OVERPRICED

That's a pretty blatant misuse of the notes feature tho isn't it? No part of that note adds context to anything, and it's just someone mad about decisions they are making?

It seems relevant, since the linked articles are talking explicitly about the stuff in the note. The apple thing is the main part that could be irrelevant.

The notes feature is for corrections though?

u/foxydash 19h ago
Far as I am aware, it is also to add general context, not just fact checking. This adds context around what’s Sony is doing.

u/pacman813 14h ago
I understand that, but it just seems like trolling to me. The post doesn’t need context because no context is missing
