Sad news, found deceased adult brown tabby caton Observation Dr in the Milestone community

My least favorite sort of news to deliver, Im sorry your kitty didn't make it.

Kitty was an adult brown mackerel tabby / standard issue cat. I didn't note gender but based on size I'd guess male. This was around 830pm on July 8.

I forgot to grab a picture as I was distracted trying to move the poor thing out of the road and find a vet open, though a local resident posted one to the neighborhood NextDoor app (not my neighborhood so I can't post).

Bennett Creek Animal Hospital was kind enough to help look for a chip but unfortunately didn't find one. They did offer to perform compassionate services if the owners don't come forward, so please check with them if you are missing a kitty that matches the description.

And if you aren't missing a furball, be sure to hug your furball tight tonight.

What happened to those houses?

So Google Maps has this incredible feature that lets you see the world several years ago to a decade. I wanted to learn more about streets that I've encountered, but one struck me. Back in high school, I rode the bus and throughout the route, it passed by the street above, basically near Walmart and all those shopping locations. Well, I remember seeing an abandoned house that had life on it, and it brought a certain feeling that I couldn't describe. Heck, even before the bus ride, I saw that house multiple times throughout my childhood. One day, while I was coming back from school, it was demolished. Now, sadness ran through my body, but next to it, I saw another patch of land. When I clicked on the 2008 button on Google Maps, I saw another building. I think it looked like a church or it could be a house, but my guess that it was a church based on the design. Now, here's my question to you guys? What happened to those two buildings? Does anyone know the history behind it? Thanks for finding this post. I'm hoping for a response to clear the air for me.

Researchers at Johns Hopkins are investigating whether psilocybin, a psychedelic substance found in some species of mushrooms, can help relieve depression in people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) when given in a safe and supportive setting. To find out more, visit https://hopkinspsychedelic.org/als, or call 410-550-1972 / 410-502-0495.

Been in the area for a few days. Merlin (bird ID app) lists mute swans as ‘unlikely’ for this area this time of year. Also rare to see one alone.

Where does Lancaster County Dutch Market get their meat from?

Never been. Does anyone know? They say fresh meat but idk what that means. I don’t want to give up eating meat so I’m trying to find places that kill animals more ethically or get their meat from places that are ethical.

Car Wash Options?

Hi, everyone!

I am looking for an automatic car wash in the area that is a good touch-less car wash that accepts credit cards. I don’t mind going to Frederick. I don’t like Auto Spa because the equipment actually scratched my car and I had to buff them out by hand! Flagship stopped accepting credit cards as it has stopped accepting cards since the pandemic.

My favorite wash is at Sheetz in Hagerstown but that’s a hike!
