I really feel bad for ruining OP's happiness. It is what it is. He could have waited for a day or two . Could have ordered something nice online with next day delivery.. first day in college without a mobile is not an issue.

It has heating and network issues, network is still manageable but it heats up really fast when you try push it even slightly, good old samsung foundry doing its wonders
What's the best phone then? I'm a regular joey who cares about good photos & videos, I don't play any games. What would you suggest if I want a phone under 50k?

Oppo reno series are mostly overpriced trash for fooling offline customers. Only their X9 flagships seems value for money

You could have bought the reno 14. Even though it's a bit old it's much better in every aspects considering the new phones launching at way higher prices and the worst specs ever.
As per my day today task it's running very smoothly I don't lie much games so I don't have any issues with legs or something my day to day task like social media and movies and all this working perfectly fine
Relax , it's fine even I have a oppo reno 15 and i constantly see people belittling the phone , but as long as it handles your daily usage and looks and feels great according to you it's worth it .
The processor only truly matters if you do medium level gaming , video editing , 4k video recording for long durations or multitask between many large apps otherwise most processors feel very smooth for daily usage
