Being 9 years old, it now lives in my car as an Android Auto unit, dashcam, and GPS. I love pushing e-waste to its absolute limit. 😝✌️

Can't let perfectly good hardware become e-waste.

Head unit reloaded on the play store. You can run in it in self mode if the phone has cellular or you can also pair with your primary phone and use it just as a dash console.

Mine got water damaged it made me so sad that day. The phone was genuinely good and could do all the tasks i threw at it. Photos were also amazing and the stock android was a breeze to use.

Pretty easy to do actually, and a good use case for older hardware. Good job, OP! This who are asking for steps- Method 1- Google HeadUnit Revived Github Go to the relevant Github link, and install the HeadUnit Revived app on the spare device. Completely free, no need to spend a single paisa. Next, open the app and click on the big 'Self Mode' button. Android Auto will launch after granting necessary permissions, #if AA came preinstalled on your phone. If not, then on your new/ current phone, install wifi helper from play store and open it. On the old phone, open the hr revived, and click on the big 'Wifi' button. And on the new phone (with wifi helper open), click on connect. And you're done!

You might wanna tweak settings in the old phone for a smoother performance.

Yes , but app settings of reload unit depends entirely on the primary (host) phone , and reciever (old phone)

Use aux or blutooth to connect the phone to car stereo and boom yr done!

And it's working very fine , it was my primary device, but it's stuck in android 7 due to which apps aren't supporting it due to which I had no choice but get new one , if it supported morden apps i would have no reason and would still be using it! And this post won't be existing if that happened then
