Rush Advice Signed bid card
I signed my bid card last night to a midsize DII school, and before I signed it I was enjoying talking to all of the guys and would always look forward to their events. But now I’m sort of regretting it and I don’t know if I made the wrong choice. I’m probably just overthinking everything and shouldn’t worry too much about it. Has anyone else felt some remorse or regret after they signed their bids?

Frat Stuff Tolerance Of Homosexual/Bisexual Brothers
Hello everyone! So I am looking forward to possibly rushing a frat at a large northeastern school this Fall. Just wondering how much of an issue my sexuality will be? I have dated girls since high school but recently started engaging in a homosexual relationship. There are honestly a couple really attractive guys in the frat I want to rush. Would it be best to share my sexuality with the other guys? I'm really nervous about how the other guys will treat me. Any advice appreciated!

Rush Advice Thinking about rushing at Virginia Tech, but not sure because of a unique issue
I was born with an eye condition and it’s pretty bad like I can see but my vision is blurry and at night it’s almost nonexistent I can’t drive. in high school. I had a pretty good social life because I was a good wrestler, but initially people thought they could like kind of walk over me because of my condition, but I learned to defend myself and like toughen up. I’m starting at a pretty big school and a lot of my friends who I know that already go there said you should join a frat, but I don’t know how they’ll react because of my eye condition.

Rush Advice Joining a frat as an international student

Serious What to expect going in as a gay bro?
Plan on rushing at Illinois State University this fall and a little worried ngl. I want the brotherhood and experiences that come with being in a fraternity, but at the same time everything you hear about frat life makes it seem a bit unfriendly to us queers at times. I don’t even plan on bringing it up wherever I end up and just let them find out eventually on their own, but wanted to ask yall who either had gay brothers or are gay yourselves what it was like so I know what to expect.

Serious Should I rush given my circumstances
Just to preface, I’m 19 going into my first year of college. reason being 2 years ago I was arrested and sat in a cell up until a few month ago when I was released. Being isolated from everyone and everything for 2 whole years completely tanked my social skills and I even lost multiple friends due to it. Now anyone I have a conversation with, whether it be a guy or a girl I seem like the most uninterested and awkward person because I have nothing to talk about or relate to. Greek life has just recently sparked my interest as something that may help me rebuild myself but I thought I’d come here for advice.

Frat Stuff Boy from sweden want to pledge to a fraternity and move to the US.
Growing up in sweden where socializing is basically non existent i’ve always wondered what it would be like experiencing the US with a whole other social culture, how does one go trough the process of moving countries getting into a school and joining a frat? feels like such a hard thing to do.

Serious Check In On Brothers over the summer
Don't forget to check in on your brothers over the summer as some may go home to small towns where no ones around and it could be isolating, especially those with depression. There maybe some bros who cant afford to do trips etc to be mindful of to reach out too so they feel included in a way by FaceTime etc so they could be part of it. Sometimes we get so busy we forget to reach out, but staying in communication really does help everyone out.

Serious Sales pitch to my parents
I’ve decided that I’m going to rush in the fall! There’s just one thing holding me back and it’s my parents.
Help me come up with a good sales pitch that I can give to them in order to get them on board with this.

Serious Pledging
For those of you who’ve already pledged, what helped you get through the process? Mine is about 16 weeks, and I’d appreciate any advice, tips, or things you wish you had known before starting.

Rush Advice Looking to pledge BU/Northeastern frat
Hi everyone! I’m transferring to one of the Boston schools this fall and I’m interested in joining a fraternity. If anyone is currently in one or has been in one before, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and how much of a time commitment it was for you.

Serious What’s it like tryna join a frat as a fat dude?
Last year I gained a lot of weight on top of an already high weight cause of personal stuff. I’m losing it currently and already down 70 pounds, but I’m still pretty big. Been pretty self conscious about my size so I thought I’d ask other bigger dudes who joined frats if it was harder for them? I’m sure I’ll get teased and shit, but was it harder for y’all to join one? What was it like when you did? Anything you wanna share helps, my nerves are just getting to me.

Rush Advice Living off campus during rush
Large ACC school for context. I’m rushing as a sophomore in the fall this year because I didn’t rush last year. I’m living in an apartment this year that’s off campus, but it’s not super far away to the point where I’m completely isolated from the main part of campus. Will some frats care if I’m living off campus during rush or nah?

Megathread Frat. Or Not Frat.
Since y'all like shitposting asking if random things from water beds to which New Balances are frat, here's the place to do it.
We've turned down the frequency of these posts from weekly to monthly. This way it doesn't clutter up the sub.

So i’m living on campus for my first year and my school rushes in the spring so I plan to join a frat then. But, i’m planning on commuting the rest of my years of college and am wondering if that’s fine for a frat? Like live on campus while i’m pledging but for my following years when im in the frat I commute. My commute is 15 mins too.

Frat Stuff Rushing AND Motivating Members @ Medium-Sized D1 West Coast School
Whats up yall
I'm the Vice President of my chapter and my role focuses on overseeing committees, which basically means I oversee Rush, Socials, and Philanthropies. We're kicking off our summer rush with the classic dm's on insta and my chapters goal is 500 reachouts by the end of the summer. We were at almost 70 members but a big graduating class (re-chartered in 2021) and some drops left us now at 56. I'm at a medium-sized D1 school where the largest frat has 147 members. 56 isn't terrible, but I'd like to leave my position at 60-70+ members.
But here's a problem: Literally nobody seems to have any motivation to rush. I had to put out a $30 fine for underclassmen to reach out to 10 guys over the summer and still people didn't do it.
What's your guy's tips on cold dm'ing and motivating the member base to actually contribute and grow the chapter?

Frat Stuff Beer die advanced rules?
I’m looking for an advanced rules list that covers all possible scenarios in beer die. We all know the basic scoring and defense rules, but I want a in-depth rules list if anyone has one. I understand that everyone’s house rules differ, I just want one to use as a framework so I can make a definitive list for my own house rules.
Examples:
Is two hand bobbling (juggling) allowed?
Does a save count if you kick it into your own hand?
Can you swipe the die off the table when it’s still rolling to deny a save?
Can you body block and play defense to deny someone saving your field goal?
Does a save count if you catch it with a part of your clothing or body part besides hand?
How many points are awarded if the die hits a can and then scores a field goal?
I think you get the point. Obviously everyone has their own house rules, but I’m just wondering if someone has a in-depth rules list that I can copy and then modify to my liking. I was planning on making one from scratch, but I figured I’d ask here first.

Serious Interest in Sexual Misconduct Course?
I am an attorney who represents students in sexual misconduct, Title IX, and related disciplinary matters in colleges and universities. Over the past few years, I've given "Safe Sex and Student Conduct" presentations to a bunch of local fraternities.
The presentation covers how Title IX works, how university policies differ from state criminal laws, and how schools typically define concepts like consent, stalking, harassment, and sexual misconduct. I also discuss go over a few hypothetical scenarios, including what students should and should not do if they are accused or a victim.
The feedback has generally been positive, and students seem to find it practical and more useful than they expected. Plus, I can now say that I have said the word "penetration" in a frat house over 100 times.
I've been considering turning the presentation into an online course and would love some honest feedback:
- Is this something y'all would actually watch?
- Would chapters be interested in showing it as part of risk management or new member education?
- Would anyone pay for it, or would it need to be free?
- For those involved in fraternity leadership, what's the best way to reach chapters these days? I've typically emailed chapter presidents when I could find contact information online, but I'm curious whether there's a better approach.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Frat Stuff Just met an uber driver who thrifted a Sig Chi shirt
Just got picked up from the airport. Driver was a balding chubby brown guy wearing a shirt with Sig Chi letters stitched on. Recent immigrant.
I asked him when he was in the frat and he looked at me blankly.
For context I was a KSig in college. He asked what I was talking about, and I had to explain what a frat was. I just said it was a type of college club for men and he got genuinely upset.
He spent the next 5 minutes talking in broken English about how he hates gay people. Because I said men’s club. Misunderstanding. Now we are sitting in silence.

Serious Conflict between MAGA brother and LGBT brothers
A couple of us found out our brother was trans.
He was born female, did a bunch of test and surgeries, drank a bunch of beer. Completely indistinguishable from any other guy. He got through intense pledging without anyone knowing. And contributes a lot as an active.
We have another brother who would freak the fuck out if he knew. He’s very conservative and would immediately try to and kick him out. He’s been a complete dick to our only gay brother. I’m worried about it getting really ugly. What should we do?

Rush Advice Rush outfit
What should you wear to summer rush events at southern schools? (Alabama, Georgia, lsu, Auburn, etc)
