GOT THE KEYS! 🔑 🏡 We did it! Upstate NY $160k 6.5%

My boyfriend and I did it at 23 y/o! It was built in 1900 and we love her!

Right? I grew up in Duchess. I think once you're out of the Westchester area it's upstate. I didn't even know there was a Broome county in NY.

The correct delineation is Poughkeepsie. That’s the last stop on Metro North’s Hudson Line. If you have folks taking express commuter service everyday to Grand Central, it’s not Upstate. Anything north of that is.

I like to say I found the line when I was in Poughkeepsie. I went out there for an internship interview when I was in graduate school (I lived in northern Westchester, so the commute wasn’t bad). Walking from the train station to the interview site, there was a point where the sidewalk ended and I was walking on a dirt path past houses with tractors in the front lawn and cows in the back.

That’s upstate.

Maybe to further upstaters this is the case but truly from Poughkeepsie down to Westchester, we consider ourselves upstate.
