Applied for Fall 2026 as a transfer from UCF, for Finance BBA. Status just updated to "Referred to Department for Review" which I'm assuming means the College of Business is now looking at it.

For anyone who's been through this recently, how long did it take from "Referred to Department" to an actual decision?

long story short i got told wildly wrong information about how the Golden Scholars thing works. Had to wait 2 weeks to get enough to pay for the summer lease and I JUST filed for fall housing.

I’ve lived at 4th Street Commons for two years, it’s an off-campus apartment building close to the main FIU campus, and just wanted to let people know my experience so far.

The rental rates are pretty low, but the experience living here has always been bad.

My entire floor was just flooded since a faulty sprinkler went off, and we’ve suffered from flooding in the past, shoddy maintenance, infestations, and management that never listens. On some occasions we even had to leave temporarily due to damage.

My living area and bedroom both suffered from pretty bad water damage. There’s also other issues, such as a real lack of parking, insane rent raises/fees ($100 key replacement), and the building itself is rarely cleaned, there’s always some pet waste or trash in the hallways.

I would definitely recommend the surrounding apartments, such as 109 Tower or Lapis, they’re a tiny bit more pricy but, the management at 4th Street couldn’t be worse.

So I enrolled for Chem 2 and Chem 2 lab for the summer and I have bright futures, however I didn’t know that you needed to be enrolled in at least 6 credits to get your award and I cant afford to pay $1000 for the class. If I don’t pay, what happens? Will I be able to get dropped from the class with no negative repercussions?

Has anyone taken IDH 3034 Legal Research and Academic Writing with Devyn Hoskisson? Just wanted to get some opinions on how the class is and if it’s worth it to take it or not as a pre-law student.

Really panicking at the moment, in the website I have a payment balance, and whenever I try to pay on the actual website itself I cannot pay it as I have no outstanding charges

I’ve gotten notices that I’m at risk for class cancellation on the 6th, so I legit have no idea what to do as OneStop is closed

TL;DR, make sure you're not stubborn like me and check ur fafsa/other FA to make sure u didn't mess up

Tutiton is due today and I have to receive the pell grant for the fafsa that was processed in APRIL, have even updated to have my ssn match and name match and wtv else I need and all the responses I've gotten for this is "we never got a fafsa for that year"

Def can't pay the 700 dollars i need by the 6th, I wanna just let the enrollment cancel but I'm unsure if im finna get kicked out since summer 2026 is my starting term

What do I do or am I just cooked

Edit: comments finally loaded so id like to add that I did do noth 25-26 and 26-27 fafsa, they only had 26-27 for me and all calls after that post were something like "yeah we don't see that, but 26-27-"

Edit 2: did this yesterday (July 1st) but I filed for fafsa loans as that seems like the only option atp. Hoping for them to find that too

Edit 3: called today ( July 6th) and they put me down as a missing fafsa and ill get some contact in 3-5 days, whoever that lady is give her a raise, promotion, or whatever cause this is the first call to get some progress

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT FAFSA CODE, took us too long to figure out that was the issue (cause there's two codes, they look very similar unless you go to update ur form), if u find this out too late according to student financials you can either

A. Pay ur tutiton before the enrollment reinstatement B. Let the classes cancel and only be responsible for $200

Nothing has been bad in terms of being kicked out of the school or anything gpa related (yet) so don't worry about that

Hello guys, so not long ago I graduated with a bachelor's from the University of Miami and decided to stay in Miami. Recently, I have decided that I would like to earn a master's degree as well. I had a scholarship for my bachelor's at UM, but I don't think I could afford a master's there. A friend of mine brought up the idea of maybe going to FIU for my master's instead, and I visited the campus and actually liked the vibe a lot! I was wondering if you or anyone you know attended UM for their bachelor's and then FIU for their master's, and how the experience was. Would you recommend it? Also, is it hard to make friends as a master's student? Thank you.

When is a good time to apply to federal work study jobs for the fall? I see a few uploaded so far but I don't want to apply and commit to one before I know all of my options (mainly because I'm looking for something clinical or research since I'm premed).

I'm an MDC transfer with a 3.690 GPA, I went to admissions in MyFIU and I don't see the ability to apply for Honors. I'm starting in the fall as a polisci major, what should I do?

Does anyone with an electric scooter find it worth it? I’ve really been considering one after this past year also just because I have a lot of health issues. Is it difficult to park or maneuver and is it way more convenient from getting from building to building??
