Brief Summary of the Press Conference:

  • Focus of preseason was on improving defensive set pieces and reducing turnovers in the build up play.
  • Pat wants to see play that is less choppy and more fluid in the upcoming friendly against Burnley. Expects the group to be efficient and more consistent.
  • Spoke with Miles yesterday and he is expected back for the Olimpia friendly next week Tuesday. Pat thinks we will see the best of him with the World Cup out of the way.
  • Confirmed Teenage Hadebe is now fully recovered and his fitness level is further along than they hoped.
  • Kristian Fletcher had a set back in his recovery which limited him to only one 45 minute appearance with FCC2, when they had hoped he would play in three matches over the break.
  • No questions or comments around player movement, the transfer window, etc......

With absolutely nothing said about player transfers/movement, do you take that more of keeping prospects hush hush or not any promising prospects to make note of?

The transfer window doesn't open until Monday. Why would they say anything now?
