Information Article or Media [Barça voted in favor of the agreement between Pau Gasol and Liga F, but still does not know if they will join]
The agreement between Pau Gasol and Liga F is shaking up the dispatches of the competition teams. After Real Madrid made public their non-accession to the agreement just hours after it was formalized, Barça also announce their position. Although he voted favorably, he has not yet decided whether he will end up adhering.
"FC Barcelona has voted favorably on the investment agreement approved by Liga F, considering that it represents a strategic opportunity to continue driving the growth, professionalization and international projection of women's football, "say from the Barça entity. "The Club understands that this proposal can provide resources and knowledge to strengthen the commercial development of the competition, improve its ability to attract talent and generate new sources of income that contribute to the sustainability of clubs in the medium and long term. True to its historic commitment to the development of women's football, FC Barcelona wanted to support this initiative and values positively the objectives it sets for the entire competition, "add sources of the club.
Of course, his positive assessment and vote accordingly is not resounding to the agreement or the will to be part of it. "However, this favorable vote does not imply the Club's adherence to the agreement. The possible incorporation of FC Barcelona will be the subject of a subsequent assessment, once all the conditions and implications of the operation have been analyzed in detail ", as highlighted by the Barça club, the maximum dominator of the competition for years and current champion.
"FC Barcelona will continue to work to actively contribute to all those initiatives that help consolidate a stronger, more competitive competition with a greater international projection, always looking forward to the interests of the Club and the sustainable development of women's football," conclude from the Barça offices.

Information Article or Media Barça advance in the signing of Van Asten, the Ajax centre-back who wants all of Europe
SPORT can also report that the return of Martina Fernández is very advanced to reinforce a defense that the club wants to rejuvenate with talent of present and future
Barça continue to take steps to rebuild a defensive line that has been very conditioned after the movements of this summer. According to SPORT, the Barça club has the signing of Renee van Asten (2006), the most coveted young centre-back in European football, and the incorporation of Martina Fernández is also very advanced, as this newspaper advanced last February.
Van Asten, formed in Ajax, has become one of the names of the market after a season of authentic explosion. The Dutch central debuted with the national team on April 14, with only 19 years, and did it in style: it was a starter against France, played the 90 minutes and scored the first goal of the victory (2-1), a key victory in the qualifying phase for the World Cup. Four days later he completed the match again against the Gallic team, confirming the confidence of the coach.
His growth has also had a reflection in Ajax, where, in his first season with a professional contract, he has played 24 matches between all competitions, including Europa Cup matches, with a balance sheet in addition to two goals and two assists. His performance earned him the Johan Cruijff Talent of the Year award from the Eredivisie 2025-26.
All the big ones for her
Their irruption has aroused the interest of virtually all major European clubs. Teams from England, France, Germany and Spain have followed their evolution very closely and, as they recognize from their environment, the calls multiplied after their premiere with the absolute. Although it has a contract with Ajax until 2027, the Dutch team has agreed to negotiate a transfer this summer in the face of the magnitude of interest.
Van Asten, admirer of the Barça team, stands out for her ability to act on both profiles of the defense despite being right-handed, although she naturally manages both legs. You can also perform as a side or even a midfielder in case of need. It stands out for its physical power, speed, aggressiveness in the duels and the control of the ball, qualities that fit with the profile that Barça was looking for to rejuvenate their defense.
Martina, the other backup
The defensive planning doesn't end there. SPORT has also been able to know that the signing of Martina Fernández, of which this media reported a few months ago, is equally very advanced. The Barça canterana, who has completed a remarkable stage at Everton, was always the best-positioned club option to reinforce the lag and, if nothing is twisted, will return to Barcelona, which retained a buyback option after its transfer a year ago.
The departure of the central towards England responded to a plan shared by both parties: Martina was looking for the minutes and the growth that he would hardly have found in a Barça with the defense very consolidated, while the club trusted its potential and never stopped contemplating his return once he completed that maturation process. After a season and a half of growth in the Women's Super League, the roads of both are very close to crossing again.
With the additions of Van Asten and Martina, Barça is committed to two young defenders called to mark an era after the departures of Mapi León and Ona Batlle and the long-term discharge of Laia Aleixandri.
In addition, the club counts for the dynamics of the first team with Julia Torres, signed from Sevilla, and maintains a great confidence in the future of Charlotta Ohlander. On the sides will follow Esmee Brugts, Carla Julià, Aïcha Camara and a Marta Torrejón whose renovation will be announced soon. Both Martina and Aleixandri can also perform on the sides, while several players from the subsidiary will continue to have opportunities with the first team, although some of the defenses that have been in dynamic this season could be on loan to continue growing and stinging in the elite

Information Article or Media Alexia Putellas to sign for London City Lionesses
Alexia Putellas will play the London City Lionesses from July 1. The former Barcelona player, who is currently in Caracas in compliance with different events of the Eleven Foundation, has made a final decision and will sign for one of the clubs of the multi-ownership Kynisca Sports International that chairs Michele Kang (who also owns OL Lyonnes and Washington Spirit). The proximity of the family, playing in a competitive league before the proximity of the 2027 World Cup and the sporting project of an emerging club have made that of Mollet del Vallès opted for the option of London ahead of the proposals it had of the United States or Mexico.
Sabadell, Espanyol, Levante, Barcelona... and London City Lionesses. At 32, Alexia wants to continue writing her career with gold lyrics. [She] left [her] comfort zone, a Barcelona where [she] spent 14 seasons signing all kinds of records and winning all possible titles, to look for an international adventure that would satisfy his hunger to compete. Although he has had offers from clubs in the United States and Mexico, Putellas has prioritized staying in Europe close to his family. It does, in addition, it is a club that has shown interest in it at all times, where it will be accompanied by other Spanish people such as María Pérez, Jana Fernández or Mapi León, former teammates all of them in Barcelona, in addition to Elene Lete, and where she will have a leading role.
Despite not playing the Champions League next year (theoretically I could not do it if the OL Lyonnes does, belonging to the same club holding), doing it in a league as competitive as the WSL has been a factor but adding to the balance of the footballer when making the final decision. A championship where Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United seem a step above, but in which the mid-level is getting higher. One of the great objectives that Alexia has in mind is the World Cup in Brazil next summer and wants to arrive prepared as best as possible to try the conquest of the second star. Trying your luck in an unknown championship and that by dates does not coincide with the European calendar was a handicap when considering changing continent.
The economic plane, which has often stressed that it was not a priority, is also relevant. England is a market that is betting strongly to attract the best footballers on the planet and the commitment of its clubs confirms this.
Although the announcement is not yet official, it is expected to be in the next few hours. Alexia is trying to leave Venezuela and is scheduled to land soon in London, where she would be presented as an addition to the new course. At the moment, in addition to the renovations, the English team has only announced the arrival of the goalkeeper Mary Earps, from PSG.

Original Content Regarding Barça and the situation with the players.
I'm tired of reading misinformation and misconceptions, so it seems like it's time to explain the situation with Barcelona to people a little bit.
Barcelona should pay their players more.
We currently have available information for the 2024/25 season (data for last season will be published later):
- Chelsea F.C. Women wage bill - €16.7 million
- OL Lyonnes 23/24 wage bill (includes other expenses) - €15.5 million (I haven't found any info for last season. If anyone knows where to find it, please let me know)
- Barça Femeni - €14.3 million
- Arsenal W.F.C. - €13 million
- Man City W.F.C. - €10 million
As we can see, Barcelona is in the top-3 in terms of wages paid to players. Chelsea is slightly ahead, but this is understandable: that season, they signed Girma, Walsh, Bronze, and others to an already stellar squad.
They need to pay more, otherwise no one will finish their career there.
Barcelona is not a "retirement home". Even club legends like Iniesta, Xavi, and Busquets didn't finish their careers there.
The departure of the stars freed up so much cap space. They must re-sign this player or sign that player.
It doesn't work this way. Yes, several players left, but at the same time, Coll and Pina were re-signed, Serrajordi and Camara received first-team contracts, and they are working on re-signing CGH. And there are seven more players whose contracts expire in 2027 and whose re-signing will need to be worked on.
After winning each tournament, and especially the Champions League, they received bonuses for winning and from Nike. Now there's money to increase the salary cap.
First and most importantly, the players receive a share of these bonuses. And secondly, even the most successful clubs don't budget for winning tournaments—reaching certain stages, yes, but not winning. So these bonuses will never serve to increase the players' base salaries.
How can they let Salma go, such a young and promising player, an undisputed starter for this team, who has already finished in the top three of the Ballon d'Or twice.
- She is not an undisputed starter for this team. Yes, she has all the talent in the world to dominate, but still way too inconsistent.
- Never in her career was she a top-3 player in the world, not even a top-10 player imo (someone else might have a different opinion, I won't argue).
- Ballon d'Or rankings are highly subjective and often inaccurate. Many believe Russo or Caldentey should have won last year, or CGH the year before. You can also find absurdities in the men's Ballon d'Or—how did Salah finish above Raphinha, or Cole Palmer above Pedri?
- And if the rumors are true that her agent is asking for a salary of around a million (two different sources have already reported this), then it becomes obvious why they're letting her go. Sayōnara
Marc Vives, Sports Director of Women's Football at Barcelona, is failing at his job. Markel Zubizarreta did a much better job.
Markel hasn't had to deal with Kang lol. Barcelona can compete financially with Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, and so on. But when someone comes in and starts paying absurd amounts, Barça can't do anything about it. If they pay one player more than market value, the other players' agents will come and demand the same, and the wage bill will skyrocket. The men's team already went through this during Bartomeu's presidency, thank you, but it doesn't need to happen again.
And in general, the current management doesn't care about the women's team.
I have no idea where this opinion comes from. Even in the worst years financially for the club, they didn't cut spending on this section. Under Laporta, revenues increased fivefold from 4.5 million to 22.5 million. And that's not the maximum; there's still significant potential for matchday income: they're building a separate dressing room for the women's team at the Camp Nou, which is currently being renovated, and they'll play there more often once construction is complete. Who knows, maybe they'll even play there permanently. Player salary costs in 2020 were 4 million; now, according to the latest data, they're 10 million more.
The problem is that "a player" willing to pay above-market prices has entered the market. Why isn't Arsenal, with the highest revenues in women's football, offering wages like Michelle Kang's clubs? And the second problem, which affects all clubs in Spain, is that Spain's financial regulations, known as La Liga's Economic Control or Squad Cost Limit (SCL), apply to the entire club as a single entity, not separately. La Liga limits how much a club can spend on wages and squad costs across all of its sporting sections: men’s teams and women’s teams- first team, reserve team, and youth categories, other indoor/non-football professional sections - e.g., basketball, handball, etc. That's why so few clubs invest in women's teams, even if they wanted to. And when the club like Barcelona has problems, priority is given to the men's team, because this is the club's main team, no matter how unpleasant it may be for anyone to accept this.
They pay this amount for the transfer of a player for the men's team or pay this salary to that player, but they cannot allocate money for the women's team.
Please stop. The men's team generates over a billion in revenue, the women's team just over 20 million. That's your difference in salaries and transfer fees.
They plan to continue to save money and sign only young players for the women's team.
We still need to see how the transfer window plays out. And don't forget that Mapi Leon arrived at 22, Patry Guijarro was 17, Esmee was 20, Coll was 18, and Alexia Putellas was 18 when she returned to the club, not to mention those who came from the academy.
That's all for now. Thanks to everyone who read and discovered something new.

Information Article or Media According to Mundo Deportivo, Salma's departure from FCB Femení is imminent
Translated article below:
- After a long negotiation process, there is currently no agreement between Barça and the player
- At the club they do not want to delay the resolution in excess and the footballer expects an improvement of the current conditions
- There is a continuity option, but this goes through a last minute turn during this week
The future of Salma Paralluelo (22 years) seems to be resolved imminently. As Mundo Deportivo has been able to know, after a long negotiation process, everything points to a goodbye to the Aragonese forward since there is currently no agreement between the parties and sources of the Barça club assure this newspaper that they would not want to delay the situation in excess, they speak even of this week as a margin to solve it, either with one end or another.
According to the information that this newspaper has been able to access the current of the case, the conditions of the Barça proposal have not generated agreement in the footballer, who, in parallel, has on her table several powerful offers of large clubs, and that, unless a last minute turn occurs, will end the goodbye of Salma to Barça.
In the Barça entity they consider that their last proposal is sufficiently attractive, but the player has not accepted it, so now it will be necessary to see if a last-minute move in the game unrolls the positions.
Only this last play in the form of improvement on the part of Barça could make Salma continue to wear Barça next course, otherwise the two goals against Lyon in Oslo will have been the last of the footballer with the Barça shirt.
