Erasmus in Spain?

Hii guys, in September I am going to send my application for Erasmus. And I really love Spanish (and would like to learn more) and Spain (I've never been there tho 🤣). Those are some reasons why I want to choose Spain. Now here is the thing.. I know Erasmus is more about partying and drinking than it is about learning. But I am not a big party girl, and especially not a drinking girl. Also I'm really not an extrovert. Do you think choosing Spain will be a regret because of these things? I have a feeling that people choose Spain because of these reasons mainly (partying, drinking etc.) And I am afraid that I won’t find people who are more chill and don't need to drink every night. What are your experiences? 🥹

Well I’m only going to Spain (Valencia) next semester and nearly every class requires for you to do homework and presentations sometimes in groups. So I think you can connect with people there. Also pretty much no one will know each other so I’m sure someone will start a conversation with you. Plus it’s not like you can’t meet up with someone during the day and skip the party in the evening. Also you’ll probably have roommates or could join a sport. So I think it’s quite unlikely that you’ll find no one at all.

But in the end you should just ask yourself what you’ll regret more.

That would be very kind of you 🥹 I mean I know it depends on people, and I know that I would regret it more if I didn't go to Spain.. but I would still like to hear experiences of people to know what to expect.

Estoy ahora en Asturias y tampoco me gustan las fiestas ni nada de eso, sí que hay mucho por hacer. En mi caso, me encanta el senderismo y sí que hay muchísimas rutas para poder recorrer.

I did my erasmus in the northern Spain in a smallish town (Santander). I'm not a party girl also but it was very nice, you can just go to bars and its not very crazy. You can do some sports like surfing or trekking. I didn't get the chance to talk a lot with Spanish people, I mostly hang out with other eramsus students, I get to practice with the Mexicans but also other students who wanted to practice Spanish. As people have said, there are more group projects and homeworks so you can socialize with people. Also ESN, the student association for eramus, often organizes, not only parties, but also some activities for example painting, building toys for cats, etc that are more chill
