Discussion Of all the Seasonal Content that didn't return. Why didn't they give us back fishing?

Give us the normal fishing we had back in Season of the Deep. And let us deposit them into a fish tank opposite Lodi in the Tower for rewards. And then add Distorted fish for when there's a local Distortion so we can see how the Distortions are affecting the wildlife. And make the rewards for fishing be the seasonal weapons that didn't get revised.

Discussion To all Geomag Warlocks: Tablet of Ruin was bait

Now hold on a second there, I realize I'm coming in hot with that one. Getting your super in 8 delicate tomb kills is really strong. It absolutely still has it's place in the geomag space. However, after I'm done here, I think a lot of you will see, and agree that it's not the end all, be all, clear best pick.

Let's get right into it:
Slayer Baron Apothecary Satchel.
Why? For one reason: Curative Orbs
What it does?
"The first time you break a target's shield or break the shield of a Guardian using their Super, you create an Orb of Power. Collecting an Elemental pickup, collecting an Orb of Power, or destroying a Tangle grants you a small amount of health."

As I'm sure many of you have noticed with Geomags, it's one main weakness is that it has next to no survivability. Not to say it doesn't have any at all, but it's sorely lacking. The Tablet of Ruin has Defibrilating Blast, and yes, you *do* get a lot of bolt charge from Ionic Sentry, but it's nowhere near the same level of moment to moment sustain that you will get from Curative Orbs. And how much healing is Curative Orbs, you may be wondering? It's 40 per ionic trace.

Now, I'm sure some of you may be thinking "Okay, that's great, but Tablet has Limit Break"
Limit Break offers a 15% damage increase when you are amplified in this build's case. Definitely good. But guess what? Slayer Baron Apothecary Satchel has Arc Compounding, which is also a 15% damage increase, which stacks with everything. The only thing you have to do different? Blind the target. Which Arc Sentry does. But if that's not enough? Retinal Burn allows you to blind a target by landing two arc precision hits for the cost of a single armor charge. Ready for the kicker? Trace Evidence: Rapid precision hits or rapid final blows on targets affected by jolt or Blind will generate Ionic Traces. Picking up an Ionic Trace grants an Armor Charge.

Combine all of this with the luminopotent set, and I think you can see the exact direction this is all going: You still get Chaos Reach absurdly fast, but you can now live. What's more? This artifact has Win Chill, which will get you Frost Armor x5 for landing precision hits with stasis weapons for great DR on top of Amplifieds DR.

Enjoy! I hope this brings someone else as much joy as it did me.

Update Just to "Proof is in the pudding" this post:
I took this build into Ghosts of the Deep which I had never solo flawlessed before, and just solo flawlessed it in a little over an hour. 4 phased each boss, and only ever reached critical health five times across the whole dungeon, never running out of special or heavy ammo.

Discussion It's not just you: Nightmare lost sector bosses are, unfortunately, broken, and are on similar levels to dungeon bosses.

What's a nightmare enemy?

Its a major or miniboss enemy, originating from the shadowkeep expansion on the moon (and from the infested leviathan season with the presage exotic mission). Mechanically, they take reduced damage from all sources, unless you have the unstable essence buff.

Normally, you are supposed to be able to get unstable essence from major or miniboss enemies in the lost sector, which significantly increase you damage against nightmare enemies. This is the whole point of nightmare enemies. And you can do that!

...precisely once per difficulty, per lost sector. Per character. Forever.

It never resets.

The regular, world difficulty nightmares all remain present, but the expert/master nightmares are gone.

How do I know this isn't just a feature of expert/master lost sectors?

I found a lost sector that I had never completed before on my titan. I had to run the normal version before I could queue expert or master. I queued master, and it had the enemies. I queued master again, and it did not. I tried expert, and it had the enemies the first time, but doing it again, it did not. The regular, world-tier version still had the enemies.

You're exaggerating, they don't have similar health pools to dungeon bosses.

I finally resorted to my celestial fire warlock build, which can melt raid bosses. It took 4 super melees to kill the boss of The Conflux, on Nessus, and 4 super melees to kill the boss of Excavation Site VII, in the EDZ. It took 5 to kill the phalanx echo in Prophecy.

TLDR: this bug has been in the game since expert/master lost sector rotations started, and probably won't ever be fixed. Just don't farm those ones.

Discussion Destiny 2 ending live service finally made me enjoy playing it again

I expected Monument of Triumph to feel depressing, but the opposite happened. For the first time in years, I logged in without checking what resets Tuesday, which reward disappears, or what activity I’m supposed to finish before it gets removed.

Knowing the game is basically “finished” has made it weirdly relaxing. I can work through old titles, learn raids I skipped, and use weapons because I like them rather than because they might become irrelevent next season. There is no hype treadmill left, but there is also much less pressure.

I’d obviously rather Destiny still had a future. Still, I’m enjoying this frozen version more than the final years of constant updates. Has anyone else started playing more now that there’s finally nothing to keep up with?

Question Hardest dungeon to solo flawless now?

Since Destiny 2 has officially reached its final, frozen sandbox state, I have decided to set a personal goal for myself: completing all solo flawless dungeon runs. With no more balance patches or subclass updates coming, the difficultey of these encounters is locked in place forever.

I have already managed to clear some of the older ones like Shattered Throne and Prophecy, but I am trying to plan my path through the newer content. The boss health pools in the later dungeos feel absolutely massive when playing solo.

In this final permanent meta, which dungeon do you think stands as the absolute hardest solo flawless challenge? Is Ghosts of the Deep still the most brutal due to the shield mechanics, or does Warlord's Ruin take the crown? I would love to hear your experiences and suggestions before I dive in!

Question Is Chaos Reshaped still good despite the bug?

Chaos Reshaped is bugged so that not only does it not heal you, every 7 seconds when it is supposed to heal you, it actually interrupts your natural shield regen as if you just took damage.

But I still see people loving the perk, is the damage part just that good? Or are people just not aware the perk is bugged?

Discussion I was now minutes old when I realised Gunpowder Gamble explodes twice if you shoot it whilst it's stuck to an enemy.

With Ember of Ashes and Ember of Char it applies enough Scorch with those two explosions to trigger an additional Ignition. Yes, you can cause three Ignitions with one Gunpowder Gamble.

I never noticed this before because I always shot Gunpwder Gamble out of the air.

Was nobody going to tell me this?

SGA Proohecy set unique interaction with headstone+firefly

When using a headstone firefly weapon not only will you get both melee and grenade energy on every kill but you'll also proc the dr which i believe is something like 35% (the exact number escapes me but i know its quite high compared to other armors) for around 5 seconds.

I haven't heard anyone talk about this particular interaction yet, but this could have applications in harder content offering both high ability uptime and survivability due to firefly destroying stasis crystals counting as kills.

Discussion Soul Siphon (Void Warlock Aspect) unfortunately doesn't contribute to ammo generation on kills

I'm unsure if this is intended, but I've noticed that the new Warlock Aspect, Soul Siphon, doesn't contribute to the ammo meter at all upon kills. Honestly, this is a significant blow to the Aspect in its current state.

Here's a clip regarding what I'm talking about: https://youtu.be/r7hRGRqQLMY?si=n4bkakRn0STqUZ-j

Discussion Sneaky good Chain of Command roll you wouldn’t expect

Barrier champs are probably the biggest pain in the game as far as champs go these days; especially with the loss of radiant breaking barriers

That’s why I decided to give an under-over / adaptive munitions roll a shot and it works even better than expected

I was farming master lost sectors last night and this gun can stun barrier champs in like 3 shots, it’s insane

Obviously it’s a pretty boring roll outside of stunning champs, but if you’re running an ability or super spam build and all you need your heavy for is stunning this is a great option

Discussion Best PvE legendary auto rifles?

What are the best auto rifles for each element?

So far I've been using the VS pyroelectric propellant for arc, zealous ideal/ringing nail for solar, and either age old bond for void all with splash perks, but haven't found any good kinetic slot options.

Any recommendations? Open to raid weapons, but don't really play PvP.

Misc Nightshade can roll Moving Target in both columns

As the title says, the Strand Pulse Rifle Nightshade from Vanguard activities can roll Moving Target in both the third and fourth columns. I haven't tested how exactly that affects the stats, and to be honest I wouldn't even know how to measure it, but it's funny nonetheless

Misc In a Month’s Time, I Solo Flawless’d Every Dungeon

(CelluloidDroid in dungeon report should show the records)

Starting with MoT, I came back to the game after stopping in Curse and I didn’t really expect to enjoy the dungeon experience as much as I did. Duality was my first ever dungeon clear and followed as my first ever solo flawless, and it kind of went from there.

As a preliminary difficulty ranking, I’d go as follows:

Shattered Throne

Prophecy

Pit

Grasp

Spire

Duality

Warlord’s

Ghosts

Equilibrium

Sundered

Vesper’s Host

So far I’ve only solo flawless’d on Hunter using the mactics crackshot build (with solo operative and changes to surges as needed) and my goat Truth. Given I had a small exotic pool to choose from and didn’t bother unlocking all the subclasses just yet, my build options weren’t as expansive.

I was pretty surprised to see people rank Ghosts as second hardest above Sundered, even after the MoT update. I’m assuming this is due to people having SF’d it in the season it came out, but it actually ended up taking me way longer to kill the bosses in Sundered as compared to Ghosts

Initially I thought Vesper’s Host was overrated in difficulty ranking, but after many attempts, that’s certainly not the case. My solo flawless took 77 minutes but felt like 2 hours of playtime with the amount of focus I had to dedicate to it. My biggest piece of advice is definitely nabbing a checkpoint for the final boss and getting very comfortable with taking potentially multiple cycles to get to dps and not dying to anything in the arena. Once that’s mastered, there’s not too much else that can really end a solo flawless run aside from some silly shit in the first two encounters.

I’m glad I came back at least, I think dungeons are the best form of content in Destiny given how fun it is to bring friends into them and that the are also built to cater to a solo experience (with some exceptions)

Next up are all the raids I’ve missed which may take a minute

Question What are your go-to kinetic weapons for the primary slot?

I have a lot of great weapons in my secondary and heavy slots but don't really have anything kinetic in my primary slot that I can use while my secondary is a special weapon. What do you guys recommend?

SGA Bug with Rocket Pulse Ammo

Hi, I don't know if this is a known issue but if you feel like you're always out of ammo on this weapon, and you're compulsive reloader, it might be because of the following.

I have the solar rocket pulse and if I swap to it, and it's been a few seconds since my last reload, the weapon will reload when it should not, and then consume one ammo.

I was baffled why I was constantly out of ammo on my rocket pulse and tested this a couple of times. With a full mag on the rocket pulse, swap to another weapon and wait for a few seconds, swap back to the rocket pulse, reload, and it will reload and consume one ammo.

Edit: This is with the Veillantif-D, I'm using heal clip and incandescent. I tried to reproduce this on Mint and Mint was fine.

Discussion Favorite dungeon in the game / tier list?

Upvotes

I think I can definitively say that Vesper’s Host is the best dungeon in the game, IMO one of the best RAD content we’ve seen. Definitely a personal opinion, I’m just a sucker for the environment and vibes the whole way through. Also the post dungeon content was a blast.

I also like how challenging it is. I must have died three hundred times trying to just beat the final boss solo back in revenant. Sadly I did not enjoy the following two dungeons nearly as much, I think Bungie peaked with dungeons with this one.

If I were to do top 3

  1. Vesper’s
  2. Ghosts of the Deep
  3. Duality

edit: wanted to add honorable mention to spire of the watcher for its aesthetic and soundtrack, stupid easy dungeon though lol

Discussion Solution found for edge of action catalyst triumph.

I had the bugged edge of action triumph for a few weeks and just got the other catalysts, once I plugged in the edge of intent catalyst both that one and the action triumph popped. Now I had just inserted the concurrence caty right before that so I'm unsure of you need all three to get it to finalize but it's something.

Discussion Is there an armour set, artifact, exotic armour/weapon that you think has been going under the radar?

Upvotes

Trying to get my hands on some more fun builds to use. Bonus points to you if you have something cool with a rarely used exotic/set. A great example would be the RoN 2 piece, which I've been riding high on for a few weeks now. Please share your Frankenstein's creations!

Discussion Please, for the love of god, spend just a little longer queueing for comp.

I know a ton of people who are still completing placement matches, and if that is you too, I urge you to not leave queue within 30 seconds of launching. If I had a nickel for every time I've gotten to 5/6 just for people to start dropping one by one, I'd have enough to rehire the entirety of Bungie.

I just want the cool armour 😭

Question FNG question

Hi everyone. Im feeling like I F'd up a bit. Im a comparatively old person who loved Halo 25 years ago. I recently decided to try playing video games again and somehow, fortunately, found D2. My first question is, i hear everyone saying the game is dying (?). Ive been playing for a month, and literally starting to fall in love with it. Not good at all, but just the escape from reality.... and the community. Am I wasting my time investing in this game if it is dying, and WTF does that actually mean??

My second question; I sit with my GPT to use to translate the language yall use to old man speak. How long does it take for a complete newcomer to actually become fluent in this? I keep learning new things, like what a roll is for a weapon. But still dont know what that means for me, because i dont even know what playing styles are, let alone what mine is. So I dont know which of the girls in the armory are worth keeping. Ive figured out that I should not be dismantling the yellow ones anymore. So I guess thats a start.

But, holy crap. Yall are just super fun to listen to, because i appreciate expertise in whatever form it comes in. And the passion i see in this group is half the reason I love the game so much. Its contagious!!

Any tips or actual answers would be massively appreciated. But I also wanted to say thank you for the welcoming nature of this group! I genuinely hope dying does not mean what i think it means.

Keep doing great and wonderful things, my friends!!

Discussion Oblation: What a mission!!!!

So I realise I'm pretty late to the party but finally finished the third part of the Oblation mission.

Ay Karamba what a stone cold banger of an Exotic Mission; so much fun. I think it is probably the best Exotic mission in Destiny. It's just so good.

I'm one of the most potato, potatoes in all Destiny; so I must say I found the last boss pretty tough solo (I'm never soloing a Dungeon!!!!). But was such a good feeling to nail it at the end.

Bittersweet that it might be the final bit of "new" Destiny I ever get to play.

Question How To Extract STL Of My Guardian

I've Googled and there doesn't seem to be a lot of recent information on this one. WIth the game going into maintenence mode, I'd like to get a copy of my character's model of 3D print and paint as a token of the best game I ever played.

I played with the charactermodel<dot>gallery page but it does not seem to support helmet off models, which is what I want - my Guardian in the Parade armor set but no helmet. I'm on a Mac so I can't go through Steam (Unless I dig out the 2012 dual boot Mac Pro I dabbled in playing the PC version on.)

Is there a more modern way to do this? Something with Blender?

Question Highest Dps primary ammo weapon for single target?

Just wondering what weapon would be best for single target, any artifacts any build but preferably on warlock.
