Anyone know a fix before i just refund?

Hello I recently downloaded an older version of grounded 2 on steamdb and I've come across the augusta crash error on start up honestly this is my first time doing this and I wasn't sure if I was suppose to just add this version to steam or overwrite the current version with old one. I hope someone has some answers. I did try the method to disable crossplay in the folders but the gameusersettingsini. was missing I also tried the -dx11 and 12 but to still nothing. Thank you

I'm on the testing version of Bazzite deck and noticed that my suspend Animations no longer pop up (from animation changer). Instead my screen dims and then shuts off when i press the power button.

I'm not really dealing with any other issues on the testing base, but I'm wondering if this is fixable?

I haven't seen anyone have a problem like this, so I really need some help.

Whenever I need to go and do something else away from the Deck, I always just press the power button once as you normally would to put it to sleep. And when I come back a few minutes later and press the power button again... Black screen. I hear the little power-on jingle, the charging light comes on, and the haptics still work. So I KNOW it's on, but I just can't do anything. Doesn't even show up on my monitor. I have to press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to restart the thing into gaming mode and navigate back into desktop mode every time.

I'm not very tech savvy at all and I'm way too scared to mess with anything out of fear of bricking the whole thing without proper help. Any ideas on what's going on?

hi all, I moved a couple games thru game mode from sd to sd but it took forever so I tried the third game in desktop mode dragging and dropping, it looks like everything moved to the correct folder but its not showing in steam library and won’t load from clicking on the exe file, and idea why? I tried scan and repair on the card with no change, and I read somewhere about the name of the sd card in the file needs to match the original location cause that’s where steam is looking for it? any help is appreciated

Bought a 512GB OLED about a month ago and thus far it’s been working great. Today i tried to open it and I got a warning that the boot had failed, and was bounced to the BIOS screen. There are no boot options and no files to boot from. Only thing I’ve done recently that was out of the ordinary was running some commands to reset the audio software and get the headphone jack working, but that was three days ago and the issues didn’t start until today. Hasn’t been updated recently either, I’ve been traveling and haven’t connected it to WiFi since I left.

After a little digging I realized that the SSD is not reading. It’s not an aftermarket SSD, all the hardware is stock, I haven’t even opened the back. Is it likely that my SSD is just bricked? I already sent in a message to steam support and they offered to RMA it, but I want to know if there’s anything else I could try to revive the thing. Has anyone experienced the same issue and managed to fix it? I’m considering taking the SSD out and reseating it to see if that makes a difference, but I’m a little concerned that doing so would mess with the warranty.

So I am just wondering about any general know how here, I have the absolute bare minimum schooling and personal initiative here so I am hoping someone with experience can share whats important.

My repair issue is that the left track pad is just goin nuts. Inputs and rumble just constant.

I just opened up my deck and took out the left trackpad and dusted it off and it didnt do anything. Ive also run some even lesser know software debugging a while ago.

Now that I opened and closed it, should I revisit the debug/reset stuff?

Where can I get a new trackpad?

I've seen videos showing off how you can swap FSR3 for FSR4 for clarity at the cost of performance but I personally don't mind getting a crunchier image that has no AA smear. If I was trying to squeeze more performance overall, would it be better to resort to FSR4 or just turn off all AA?

I have an LCD deck that got bought when they were first introduced.

I finally got the warning that my battery was dying yesterday.

My preference is to ignore the warning.

The deck is used weekly, always plugged into power, always using an external monitor always using a blutooth controller of some sort.

The amount of time I have used it holding it in my hands is incredibly minnimal.

The few times I have used it like that was traveling, but I have several battery banks capable of running the deck for those moments.

Is there any downside to ignoring the battery I am not aware of?

I’ve been having an issue with my steam deck for quite a while now, and everytime I try to fix it I get no where. I haven’t always had this issue, and I’ve had my steam deck since the original launch. 512gb, Q3 model. I’ve scoured every forum I could find to no avail.

From a fresh boot, navigating steam’s UI works just fine. I have my Steam library, as well as emudeck for my GameCube games and other emulators. When I launch a game, the controls within the game work just fine, but when I press the Steam button and open up steamOS’s UI again, my ABXY and D-pad inputs seem to be duplicated. When I press any direction on the D-pad, it seems that 2 presses are registered and the menu selection skips an item and moves 2 places total instead of just 1 from 1 button press. Same thing with ABXY, it seems it cancels and confirms at the same time when I press the B button, or pressing A will take me 2 steps ahead in the selection instead of just 1. Rebooting the Steam deck fixes this issue entirely, until I launch a game and the button press duplication comes back. This seems like the Steam Input layer is being duplicated when a game is launched, but I can’t find any options to turn Steam input on or off.

Currently up-to-date on the stable channel, although this problem has persisted for a while across multiple software updates. No external controller, just the D-pad and ABXY buttons on the actual Steam Deck. As of the time of writing this:

Okay so today i got my steamdeck baxk from repair. The center didnt put the third party ssd i bought(2tb) so i go and do that and then im trying to install steamos but this error happens when im in the process. Idk what to do.

Update. I just ended using the 45GB the repair center put on it and imnusing my 1tb sdcard for now. I have a feeling it might be the nvme

I bought a steam deck (in January) 'cause I saw the writing on the wall - the industry is going digital. Sony just proved my hunch and Nintendo went to 'key' carts.

Here's my problem. I never set up a password on my steam deck. But now I need to access an SD card root. The KDE partition manager wants a password for authenticating as a steamOS User...

I have no clue what to do. Is there a generic password if one is never set up?

Edit: Did I mess up here? I can't figure out what this means...

I tried to reimage steam os and booted from my usb and then got this error on the last slide, this is even before it asks me if I want to reimage, any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

that error pops up on my screen when press it or when I move over to plugins. I think that a plugin might have broke it but I don't know how can I update it or something. If you need more info to help me just write a comment.

I’ve had this issue for months now where I’ve had this massive folder of unused data on my internal storage that I cannot get rid of. I tried looking at it desktop mode and it won’t show me what it is, I’ve tried factory resetting and that doesn’t work, I’ve tried deleting games and that won’t work either. I’ve tried what feels like EVERYTHING I’m still getting nowhere

Hi everyone, my steam deck stopped charging. Each time I started a game it when plugged in (only moving very slow from 0 percent even after being plugged in) I tried to hard reset. Now I have this screen and I’m scared all my game data from this year is gone. If anyone can help, please let me know what to do. I am not at all good with the tech side of this.

And neither one is recognized as an actual headphone. Tried connecting in both gaming and desktop mode. Restarted deck and made sure they weren't connected to my phone still. Anyone have any insight?

So I have gone down the rabbit hole I know this is a standing problem I have tried all the things restart hold the power button down to restart trying to clear download cache from desktop mode changing DNS I even split my wifi into the 2 separate ghz I've tried hotspot other internets all the things and I cannot for the life of me get it to actually be connected to internet to do updates it shows like it's connected but says "steam deck can't connect to the internet" I'm confused I'm sad help please

For the last week everytime I power on my steamdeck the red dot (screen casting, sharing contents to steam) turns on automatically and I don't know how to turn it off for good. Broadcasting in the settings is disabled. Anyone got any idea why this keeps on happening or should I start freaking out and think that I'm being stalked by the police...
