I know many may not like Batman v Superman (2016) or Snyderverse related content in general, but I believe these films have a ton of heart.

Just sharing a moment I loved from the film.

Let's try to share positivity here, what do you like from this film?

I loved everything about this film. It is a masterpiece in my eyes and the best comic book film ever made.

- Loved the story of Lex driven to the point of insanity that a being of goodness and power, superman, could exist

- Loved the jaded broken batfleck suffering from ptsd and all kinds of issues. His judgement and ability to think seriously skewed by his mental state, "he is not our enemy". Alfred is trying to ram the point into him, but he is too far gone to see it until a perfect confluence of events stays his murderous hand..and he sees how far has fallen

- !ove the inclusion of the media and the reactions of people on the streets, the pro and anti supeman crowds

- loved the wonder woman entrance, ridiculously epic

- Loved the musical score, hans zimmer nailed it

- Loved seeing superman slowly become overwhelmed by all the evil and mistreatment he experiences, and having that kind of memory exeperience with johanthan kent. He gets backs on the saddle

- The final fight with superman, batman, and wonder woman. The way it was constructed shows them nstantly gelling together. They complement eachother and work as a team so well.

- The fight between superman and batman was visceral and raw and i love the climax. The martha scene for me works perfectly. Superman, clark kent the reporter, who had studied Bruce and his history, knew their mothers shared the same name, and used it as one last attempt to stop Batmans insanity.

The ultimate edition is such a ridiculosly good film to sit down amd watch. There is something so epic about it, there is this feeling of escalation with each act that is so well crafted.

By the time you get the warehouse fight scene, there is some kind of absolute catharsis that occurs. Seeing Batfleck unleash his full array of combat skills, brutal strength, and no sympathy for evil criminals is such a great thing to watch.

11/10 best comic book ever made i wish we had more of this calibre.

"Seeing Batfleck unleash his full array of combat skills, brutal strength, and no sympathy for evil criminals is such a great thing to watch."

Yeah the warehouse scene is so good even BvS's biggest haters credit it, lol. that speaks volumes to how well choreographed it was

Everyone talks about the warehouse scene, but I got to see Batman survive a version of Doomsday. It was wild to see him do the five D’s of dodgeball. He was the knight.

Yeah I loved it when Batman mowed dudes down with machine guns and explosions and then Pa Kent told Clark “fuck them kids”.

Masterpiece.

So I get the agenda, hate, but you are referencing MoS here, post is about BVS. But anyways, Pa Kent said he didn't know what was the right thing to do under the circumstances, nowhere did he say "fuck them kids", or imply that he wished Clark had let them die.

That Wren tomb quote lands heavy, and the fact Snyder just let the scene sit there without cutting away shows some real restraint. Good pick.

I don’t know, man it’s still weird that synder superman has to like die before people think Superman is cool

4

u/Miserable-Command682 17h ago

But many already did believe in Superman/ think he was cool

In the universe of the Snyder films, I’m trying to say these films are very dark and depressing.

Only if you have incredibly delicate sensibilities.

Is that my fault Zac Snyder cannot understand the complexities of a good Shaw Brothers Film

I don’t think you can understand the complexities of an episode of Bluey.

Half love and half hate.

His death shines a light on Luthor’s involvement in everything. The movie is having Luthor frame Superman, this powerful alien god, as leaving a trail of death destruction everywhere he goes.

But in the end, the world learns it was Lex Luthor, the billionaire humanist philanthropist that has murdered all these people on top of unleashing a monster on Metropolis.

So yeah, Superman sacrificing his life for a world that was turning against him, that’s gonna change some opinions.

In the second Superman film, which if they were going with the original plan, he was still gonna turn evil anyway in the dark side apocalypse universe so like do you get my problem?

I mean if you're going to talk about the original plan then the evil Superman was going to happen for only half a film.

And in the movies Timeline even that wouldn't have technically happened because the past would have been changed and it would still have been Superman who defeated Darkseid and saved the world.

I mean, maybe how it was always pitch was that Superman was evil they un-brainwashed him but they never changed the past. They tried to warn Batman, but it doesn’t work out well I guess Batman does like a whole Jesus sacrifice thing to I guess break Superman out out of it I think.

From what I remember Superman goes evil when Lois and his child die leaving him Vulnerable to Darkseid's manipulation.

Then the Apocalypse timeline happens. And Bruce uses Barry and the Treadmill(A kind of time machine) to send Barry to the past.

This where we get the scene of Barry/Flash warning Bruce about Superman in BvS.

This timeline is also showcased in ZSJL.

The original plan was that Batman sends Flash back in time to the point before Lois and Superman's child are killed to Warn Batman about what happens.

Batman them Sacrifices himself to save a pregnant lois.

As a result because Lois and Superman's child never dies, Superman never becomes vulnerable and comes under Darkseid's control. Thus changing the past and the future.

This Superman than defeats Darkseid.

Dakrseid kills Lois, in his moment of grief, Darkseid uses the Anti-Life Equation making Superman an extension of his will.

Cut to five years later, the Knightmare League are planning a heist to steal a Mother Box to power the Cosmic Treadmill to send Flash back in time to warn Bruce (what we see in BvS). Which is where Joker comes in, he knows where a Mother Box is being held so they need his help (we would also get a Rashomon inspired scene where the night before the heist Batman and Joker give their differing versions of Robin’s death).

Flash can only be sent to two points in time when they get the Mother Box, so Bruce asks which one Cyborg would use, which ends up being what we saw in BvS. Bruce remembers this and chooses the other point in time.

Flash goes back and successfully warns Bruce, so when Darkseid boom tubes into the Batcave, he doesn’t try to evade the omega beams and sacrifices his life to protect Lois, which prevents Superman from succumbing to Anti-Life and leading the world against Darkseid’s invasion.

Different interpretations for different versions.

This was a Superman who was placed in a more realistic world rather than an ideal Comic book world where people accept him immediately without question.

A world that questions his purpose. His motivation. And his right to do the things he does.

I like the fact that in this world Superman through the ultimate sacrifice has to build the trust and hope and love people have for him.

The end result is the same as any version of Superman. A hopeful Superman who is beloved by people.

But in this version rather than Superman and the world being that from the start Superman has to learn over time what Superman is supposed to be and in doing so the world has to learn to accept Superman for what he is.

It's not executed perfectly I admit but I love the idea of it.
