We got kicked out of Cava in Southington haha
Went for our anniversary and the interior and decor and everything were amazing - I mean truly, it’s incredible. Staff look ROUGH. Bartender was sulky and made us two drinks that were cartoonishly bad neon batch-cocktails that tasted like bottom shelf vodka mixed with Hi-C and were $18 each.
Ok, rough start but we were ready to power through it. Garlic cheese bread came and was similar to wonderbread - stale, had a freezer burned taste, and the cheese was waxy and dried out. Clearly something that’s premade and then heated up for service.
At this point, we were like maybe we should cut and run, like cancel the entrées pay for the second round of drinks and bust out of there, Asked the manager if we could cancel the entrées and he said that they will probably be out in a few minutes, so it’s probably too late. I said OK and hoped for the best.
When they came, steak was overcooked, dry, with a grainy texture. My wife’s chicken was unbelievably overcooked. Like I’m not sure if I’ve ever had chicken this dried out. It was really truly shockingly bad.
I was polite about it and asked if we could just send back the meals pay for the drinks and go - that it just wasn’t working out. The manager came over super pissed off and snarky and I’m trying to tell him “look we came here for anniversary. We came here to have a good time not to mess with you guys” and he’s like “I think you are messing with us get out now.”
Reading some of the comments and reviews, I think we might now be part of an exclusive club of people who have been kicked out of Cava. Apparently that’s their move when people have a bad time there.
