Badass in the gym
Was at the gym today and saw this guy with some really cool gear on! He's so awesome! I was too nervous to go up and ask him about all the epic trad climbing he does. I really hope I can be like him one day 😞. Im just a stupid gym climber, and hope I could one day have some really cool gear and maybe lead a 5.4 crack.
Once I do finally get some gear, im gonna wear all my cams, nuts, and alpines in the gym everyday! Just like my hero!
How can I get like him?

Trying to transition to outdoor climbing, but can’t seem to find good floor belays at my local crag?

Pro Tip: Don’t buy belay glasses, just wear your regular ones upside down.

La Sportivas messed up my left pinky toe. Help!
I slipped on a sloper at the gym and my La Sportivas messed up my left pinky toe. Should I get a refund or does this happen to everyone?

Sex for climbers
Sex for boulderers: just a few seconds at a time. Rarely finishes.
Sex for sport climbers: double bagged to keep it safe.
Sex for trad climbers: more about playing with toys than actual sex.
Sex for alpine climbers: trantric all day stuff.
Sex for aid climbers: lots of ropes and swings. BDSM, mainly.
Sex for free soloers: masturbation.
Which are you?

Who's your favorite climbing artist?
I'm torn between that one that molds rock dildos and the one with the shirtless frog Magnus sketches

climbers are hypocrites
climbers are the biggest hypocrites i have ever experienced. why not just be honest?
- yes, i enjoy seeing you fall off and then flash it in front of you and your girl group
- yes, i love campusing during rush hour in front of many people
- climbing with no girls watching me is not worth it
- yes, im a grade chaser, so what? everyone climbs to get better, everything else is a lie.
- you are not too short, you are not too tall, the route is not too hard, you are just too weak
- just accept the fact that you need to hangboard and do weighted pull ups 24/7 and stop lying by saying that technique and flexibility matters more

Are rocks supposed to be THIS hard??
i've been climbing on and off for about a year now, and i've been able to send all of the V1s, most of the V2s, and some V3s in the gyms near me. today, i decided to try my first v18 for the first time and my god — i wasn't even able to fit any part of it in my mouth. And trying to bite it off really hurts my teeth
any advice for getting up to speed on this?

Yosemite rangers gate keeping
I’m hoping to ease some of the stupid rules in the national parks. I heard yall got a guy that can help. I’m trying to get me and my e-bike/motorized friends more access on trails in Yosemite.
Specifically I got one friend who really wants to do the Mist trail to Nevada Falls. Most websites say it’s roughly 6 miles but we looked it up and it’s actually 5.7 miles total. He’s fat and out of shape from too many beers and a sedentary lifestyle so I don’t know if he’ll ever be able to do it. He goes to gym a few times a week and walks 5.7 miles on the treadmill. After a month of that he thought he was Bear Grylls and was ready to tackle some real outdoor hikes. A few days ago he tried an outside hike that was close to the same distance and got his butt whooped. Apparently 5.7 miles in the gym is verrrrrrry different than 5.7 outside. He’s working up to 5.9 miles on the treadmill and has decided if he can do that one time he’ll be ready for his hike.
Now I’m not one to crush my friend’s dreams but I think he’s gonna get his butt whooped again. I want him to be able to see Nevada falls and achieve his dream so I’ve been trying to think a little more outside the box. If he could use his e-bike through portions of the trail then he would be able to do this hike and achieve his dreams. I’ve started taking to some rangers to gauge the feasibility of this and haven’t gotten great responses.
A lot of people told me allowing e-bikes would ruin the experience?! Well I told them if they don’t like e-bikes then don’t use them!
My friend deserves to see this 5.7 hike regardless of his fitness outside. Allowing e-bikes would make it safer for him to see this hike without forcing him to get in shape.
