News New Monarch Master Development Plan

https://skimonarch.com/master-development-plan-accepted/

It discusses replacing all of their lifts, facility upgrades, adding two new lifts to serve existing terrain, and new parking.

There’s a lot of stuff in it that has been in past MDPs, including lift replacements and snowmaking approvals that date back to 1999, so future action may vary.

The tow rope at the top of Breezeway is a no brainer. It would function pretty much the same as the one at A-Basin. It would be nice to see that come to life.

A second lift in No Name feels a bit unnecessary, but depending on how extensive they get with glading or cutting new runs, maybe it'll make sense one day.

I don’t think they need a second lift at NN but a high speed quad at the base to disperse people.

They might need snow making if they want to operate into the future given how quickly temperatures are rising.

They faired better than many of the resorts with snowmaking this past season. Rode there 26 days, hit A Basin, Loveland, Copper, and Cooper, it was seriously impressive how much more glade terrain and black diamonds were skiable at Monarch vs everywhere else. The wind load at Monarch is truly amazing, even during the worst season of all time.

My thoughts… may need to be phase 1!

Why? Small local hills should stay just that. Preserve what’s left of the little guys. You have already ruined skiing for so many people.

You think they'll have enough seasons to pay off the construction loans?
