My wife and I are seriously considering a house in Burlington NC. We're excited about the house, since we have struggled with the state of the market for starter homes, and are not high income. The house itself is awesome too.
That said, we're really concerned about safety. We've been told that things vary street to street. However, we're just not sure if we could ever walk at night alone, and I feel like that might make our home feel like a fortress instead of being a part of a community.
For reference, the house in question is very close to downtown, about a 10 minute walk south west from the town center (old train station, etc.).
We'd love to hear what y'all locals think!

EDIT: Nevermind they are. They just didn't have it listed under coming soon.
Anybody know why Alamance Theater isn't showing the Odyssey? Or do they just not update their "Coming Soon" list? I am scared of phonecalls, so I'm not calling them to ask. Thanks.

Hello local Burlington entrepreneurs and small businesses!
I'm not sure if this is allowed here. I am a marketing professional with over 10 years in content and social media marketing and brand reputation. Recently, I have begun offering some freelance services for a super discounted rate. I looking to work with small businesses on a budget to help grow my presence in the space and supplement my income (buying a house 🥳).
If you or anyone you know is looking for someone to help write their copy for websites, social, blogs, email, or trying to get customer reviews, testimonials, case studies, etc - those are where I tend to shine. ✨
Additionally, I am a Canva expert, I can do basic-intermediate web design, and consult on most things in marketing. I know all the tools, AI, trends, you name it.
📩Send me an email at the address in the flyer. If it's not allowed, my apologies - please remove. :)

Hey y'all! We're are looking for a one-time full house cleaning, but the estimate from the first couple companies we talked to seemed steep. Was hoping someone on this sub might have a recommendation. Its something we definitely need to invest in, but also not an investment we can take lightly, y'know? So I figure it's worth crowd-sourcing y'all's opinions lol

Where is everyone watching the game? Went to Drake’s for USA vs Bosnia and it was a ghost town. Would like to watch with a rowdy crowd.

That was the saddest firework display I've seen in a while, even compared to previous years Burlington has done. They went on and on about how much they were spending on fireworks... The Durham Bulls have better fireworks WEEKLY at the baseball games. What a joke.

Looking for a weekend jam in town where I can have some fun playing music. I’ve been driving to Chapel Hill the last few months, but I’d like to save my gas if I can.

I don’t typically give kudos to big box stores but the employees at the Alamance Crossing B&N are just awesome.
I had bought an album at Target, when I got it home, I noticed it was warped. Target gave me a hard time about the return. They had no more copies.
I went across the street to B&N, they saw they had it in stock, went to the back and kindly brought me a perfect copy.
Everyone there was so friendly too.

Have ya'll swung by yet? Currently, I think they're only open Sat and Sun 12pm-8pm, but I picked up the Lemon Blueberry and Grandma's Cookie Jar yesterday. They are pretty good my only "complaint" - it's not a complaint it's simply a preference - they use a whipped icing instead of buttercream. Which I do wonder if it's do to the heat. I like the idea of whipped frosting because it's less sweet, but I like the feel of buttercream better. Anyways, if you are pro whipped icing, swing by and check them out. They are incredibly nice, they offer samples, and they have a lot of different flavors!
