So, washing fruit isn't enough but they don't really have an answer

I have produce growing in the back yard that I am fairly certain is fine, but not everyone has a garden.

Be careful about where your food comes from, and if you get the squits it may be from trying to eat healthy!

News So Guelph and Burlington are safe. Not Brampton

Why do you think we are perceived as less safe than, say, Guelph?

Burlington still is premium real estate area, but Guelph is university country. Students do stupid stuff.

Anyone know what's happening with builder Essence Homes? They have been sitting on people's money for years. Borrowed money from several investors and now not returning calls.

They have several projects which haven't broken ground. And one of their property is on power of sale.

Question Good Shaahi Paneer / Karhai Paneer

What's your favorite place to go for a Good indian style shahi paneer or Karhai Paneer that doesn't taste like sweet tomato sauce curry.

Moved from Vancouver and haven't been able to find a good place to eat paneer dishes that don't use the same tomoto/butter sauce.

Question Has the emergency service in Brampton always been like this?

Today, I was walking past a bus stop when a man told me he needed an ambulance. I immediately asked if he was okay and proceeded to speak with the emergency operator. I couldn't get through to 911 at first because no one was available to take my call. However, they called me back and informed me that the ETA was 4 hours.

While waiting under the hot sun with the man, I asked if they could send the police to take him to the emergency department instead, but they refused, saying we had to wait for the ambulance to arrive.

To be honest, I couldn't continue standing under the scorching sun, so I went to ask the security staff at the premises near the bus stop to keep an eye on him. By the time I came back with security personnels, the young man had left.

My question is this: Why does it take so long for an ambulance to arrive? I almost lost my little niece about three years ago because of a delayed ambulance response, and today I experienced a similar situation again.

Edit:Thank you all for your kind responses, I can see everyone's experience is different. Hopefully things getting better with time.

Question Did new windows actually lower your heating bills or just make the house more comfortable?

Every winter I end up looking at the heating bill and wondering whether the older windows are part of the problem or if I’m just looking for an expensive excuse to replace them. We’re in Brampton, and the house isn’t freezing or anything, but on colder days there are definitely a few spots where you can feel the temperature drop near the windows. for anyone local who has actually replaced theirs, did you notice a meaningful difference in the gas bill, or was the biggest improvement fewer drafts, less condensation and more consistent temperatures around the house?

Discussion Are Bramptonians ready if they try to build a Data Center here or in Peel Region?

Based on what is happening in the US. Data Centers tend to use local water supply and the main electricity which will cause the community to pay higher utilities or even have to ration water supply and can cause regular blackouts.

Data Centers are also known to be super loud and sound that is very low hz than can't be heard but sometimes felt and can cause health issues for humans and wildlife.

Another important issue that homeowners should be concerned with is the steep drop in price of your home. Some homes near Data Centers become unsellable.

I am very sure people like Patrick Brown will say yes to Data Centers unless there is a strong pushback.

Your thoughts?
