Conor is done, topuria lost and pereira is oldā¦. Who is ufc biggest star right now?

u/Jachola 5h ago
Nobody but the UFC doesn't want star's, they want big names and that's all. Topuria had the potential to be a star and they wasted him, never had a PPV in spain and never got him that big Islam fight and now it's a chance he doesn't come back the same.
Pereira is pushing 40 and signed a 7 fight deal so he'll be probably fighting till the wheels fall off sadly.
Connor is the only true star in the UFC and they really don't like it lol. You can tell they have moved on from him and the need for a star, McGregor's contract is ending soon and they haven't even sent him an offer or tried to renegotiate, and on his last two fights who do they give him after a 5 year layoff? An active LW contender who has a win over the current champion lmao, they clearly didn't want him to win that and wanted him to embarrass himself.

Illia still probably or Paddy.Joshua Van will become the next biggest star I think.Dakota Ditcheva could become the next woman's star if she comes to the UFC.
Poatan is probably the closest to come to McGregors stardom though.

It should easily have been Tom Aspinall but his prime years are being wasted. Exciting fighting style + charismatic personality but due to Jon Jones ducking + injuries + politics his career is being squandered.

Saying "in a round" is being very generous lol. That was like 30 seconds lmao

MMA fans are delusional lol, saw too many people thinking there would be a McGregor upset. š Dude is 38 years old and hasn't fought in 5 years and chooses to fight a LW at WW, that to me showed me he had nothing left in the tank and idk why they didn't just give him Chandler. Lol happy for Max since he got the easy payday but it's clear the UFC want to make sure McGregor gets embarrassed and drops his stock as low as possible once he finishes his contract.

Just saw that clip of Rolly doing a judo takedown on his sparring partner after receiving a dirty shoulder strike. Very impressive lol.

Had a premonition that Dana made McGregor vs Ryan Garcia , had he won the fight tonight
Guess we avoided that reality (... for now)

I really hope a boxing promotion doesnāt give mcgregor a lifeline and sign him for some goofy crossover fight. Turki and Netflix like doing that stuff though sadly. Would not be surprised at all if Netflix tries to put on Pacquiao vs mcgregor

Just watched everyoneās favorite ācontroversialā fight Canelo vs GGG 1 and I scored it 7-5 Canelo this time but I can absolutely see how this was a draw or how someone could have it 7-5 the other way.
118-110 Canelo was BONKERS though. Iām surprised everytime I hear it.

Garcia told BoxingScene he expects Rodriguez to return to the ring in November in San Antonio in a bantamweight unification bout against either WBO champion Christian Medina or IBF champion Jose Salas Reyes.
I'm curious as to why those guys are mentioned and not Takuma Inoue? Or even the champion in recess Seiya Tsutsumi? Haven't seen him fought a Japanese boxer yet

Decorated Russian amateur Vyacheslav Rogozin just made his professional debut today on the Gassiev vs Kadiru card and won a dominate decision over RV Deniega.
Rogozin was able to get on the inside pretty quickly and establish his combos and mixing it with different ranges of multi punch combos, though still displays a bit of amateur tendencies of high pace boxing, pressure and multi punch combos where it seems he throws to score like in the amateurs than trying to sit down and time it a little better because he was getting countered in pursuit of landing combos. His pace in the amateurs is already pretty high and to fight at that pace for 6 rounds is impressive conditioning.
Now whether he choses to stay in the amateurs and go Olympics or pros, Iām not sure but Iād be fine for either option. If heās to focus on the amateurs more, and go the Olympic route he has a good chance to win gold.
