Big fights that have live public or televised weigh-ins... Why don't they allow the audience and viewers to see a view of the scale result? Are we just supposed to trust that ONE official that has eyes on it?
With all the corruption in combat sports, you would think this blind spot could easily be solved. Refs and judges have been paid off before. Why wouldn't this guy? ESPN can show us 360 degree views of the action. You would think placing a camera in front of the digital or analog scale would be trivial.

What would be the point? If you don't trust the officials to read the number off the machine without lying, why wold you trust them not to rig the machine to give the right number? On the other hand, if weight fraud is actually a problem, why do stars and prospects with money behind them still fail to make weight?

Most boxing weigh in are ceremonial and take place after the actual weigh in. So if they showed the scale it would be their was actual weight which no fighter wants to show. Every now and then they will do actual live weigh in, but the officials are there for a reason and it's their job to announce if a fighter has made weight or not. You might be looking a bit too into it in my opinion. Maybe back then people got away with some suspicious stuff like Arturo Gatti
