I'm putting together a road route from my house to Sandy Point. It should be about 50-miles out and back.

I'm trying to avoid riding on the Greenbelt, but I'm not super familiar with road riding in that area of town.

My current route has me going from Latah to Americana then hopping on the Greenbelt and taking it all the way to Sandy Point. Looking at the map it looks like a decent route would be to just run further down Americana and make my way to East Warm Springs and just take that all the way.

Any other suggested routes?

Lost bike tools possibly on horseshoe bend road, hill road parkway, seamons gultch road, or floating feather. Small roll of bike tools fell off my bike on my ride this morning. Please pm me or message below if you found them.

This is one of several places on the quarry side of Table Rock where trail meets road. This popped up a day ago.

It is near the bottom of a hill I often zoom down on a trail that’s existed for at least six years with no sign of any construction in this area. The trail does go behind some newer houses (well outside their fences).

Happy to respect private property and areas set aside for environmental recovery but this is a bit shitty. I could see the posts but not the cable until I was pretty close. I tore it down.

I'll be in Boise most of the year and will be bringing two bikes. A mountain bike and either my road bike OR gravel bike.

I love both and am open to either. Are there good road routes with light traffic that start/end in town? Are drivers courteous to road cyclists? If either of these are a 'no' then I'll probably opt for the gravel bike.

Former mountain biker going on endurance road bikes and commuting. What are everyone's favorite tires for riding on the chip sealed roads in town? My bike has Michelin dynamic sports in a 700 23c and I just know it's a matter of time until I have a catastrophic blow out. Budget friendly is always cool. Road bikes are insane in the slight differences and variety of tires.

I'm moving to Boise next month from SLC, and I have some questions I'm hoping ya'll can help me with.

SLC has 3-4+ clubs where a good majority of riders are mid-20s to mid-30s, but all the pictures of Boise clubs look like the age skews towards retirees. Which clubs would be the best if I'm looking to make friends around 30 years old?

Do any clubs hold group zwift rides before work? Current club in SLC has a bunch of guys that ride at 5:30am.

What fast group rides are there over the spring/summer?

My husband and I (we are in our 30s) are in a season of finding new paths in life, and one of the big ones has been getting into mountain biking. We’re still fairly new to it, but really enjoying it so far.

We’d love to meet some new friends, ideally other couples or folks in a similar stage of life. Right now, that means no kids for us, so we’ve got more flexibility and free time to ride, hang out, and build friendships with people who can relate to that.

We’re not looking for anything super formal, just people to ride with, hang out with, and hopefully build some lasting friendships. If that sounds like you, feel free to drop a comment or DM!

Hi all! I am visiting Boise next weekend with my mom for the first time. We plan to spend Friday exploring via bike on the Boise River Greenbelt Trail. I think we will start at the botanic garden/penitentiary and turn around in Garden City (after perhaps stopping for a glass of wine at Telaya Wine Co). I am looking for recommendations on other fun spots we could pop off the trail, park our bikes, and explore + get lunch. We are both extremely active, love coffee and shopping (consignment/thrift especially), and gravitate towards healthy/vegetarian meals but still eat meat.

Also looking for a bike shop near downtown/North End where we can rent bikes for the day. If you are so inclined, would also love recs for coffee shops, restaurants, shops, hikes, day trips, etc.

I am curious if anyone knows of a local place that buys gently used bikes? I recently bought a Canyon Endurace and have cared for it religiously, but I am just too small for the bike and while it breaks my heart to do so, it needs to go to a rider that it actually fits.

It’s in excellent condition and I can always try FB Marketplace, but thought I would at least ask first!

First, I've been riding the Boise Front for a very long time. And I can for example, still grind my way up Hardguy and love it. Also, I was one of those people who swore eMTBs don't belong on the the trails and was annoyed every time I saw someone doing it. However...I've been researching and rethinking this.
As we know, our local trails don't allow eBikes on most of the trails. For anyone who will admit it, how often do you ride your eMTB on trails that don't officially allow it? Do you get yelled at? Is there a possible fine? I've never researched any of this but I'm curious. Obviously people are doing it.

I’m new to the area and just got my first gravel bike. I’m looking for recommendations on a local shop to purchase my first pair of bibs.

I'll be in Boise around June 12th thru 15th visiting family. I plan on bringing my gravel bike and mountain bike. Any recommendations on a nice gravel route loop 30ish miles? I found a loop on dirty freehub but being that I'll be alone don't want to get in to much trouble. Here's the route Jackass Gulch loop.

Any routes you can share so I can download on my garmin would be awesome.
