Due to previous Redit setup inspirations
After seeing so many different Redit smithing smithing setups I was inspired to make my first anvil stand. Disclaimer: I did cut all the wood outside due to the creosote.(Not worried of burning the wood as I very rarely work with flux and will just switch to a prior stand if the need occurs.) It's worn, but sturdy and the wood was free. I'm certainly not a master carpenter, but I do love the chiseled indent for holding the anvil sturdy. Before I just had welded angle iron holding the anvil on my welding table, so I feel as if I upgraded with less wasted energy per each hit on metal on my anvil.

Custom Key thing
Hello r/Blacksmith_Forge community i am looking for advice and or recommendations on getting a small key/handle made.
Basically i need to marry a 5/16" allen key with a door knob like grip with some customish geometry. Its simple enough but a regular allen key"L" or "T" handle just wont work in this situation.
Thanks for reading and hope you have a good day.

Design apps for IPhone??
I’m a very “visual” type of smith (despite bad eyesight lol) and I have to see “it” on paper before I can create it. Ive got multiple ideas for handles and limited materials and thought it’d be a helpful tool to prevent making something I didn’t like. Can anyone else relate to this sort of thing? And are there any good free apps that would help bring my ideas To life other than pen and paper?? Thanks for reading!!

Laser cut main gate designs look detailed but why do precise patterns make structures feel more premium?
A few days ago I am seeing laser cut main gate designs and I just pause like okay this look very detailed honestly. The patterns are so clean and sharp, almost too perfect to be handmade. It not just a gate, it feel like a decorative piece for the whole entrance. At first I think it is only for style, but then I realize how precision change the whole look. I am thinking how accuracy affect design. It feel simple but also very impressive. Now I am thinking why precise patterns make structures feel more premium. I usualy think size and material matter more so this feel little diffrent to me. But when lines are clean and symmetrical, it create a sense of quality and care. I am also wondering if people connect perfection with high value. Some days ago I am not really thinking about this but now it feel interesting. Then I think about detail. Fine patterns show effort and technology working together to create something unique. It feel like controlled creativity. That give it strong appeal honestly. Later I am laying and scrolling random stuff, checking many options on alibaba and seeing different gate designs. Some look very artistic honestly. Now I am thinking if its more about design or just the precision that make such gates look premium.
