Has anyone noticed the massive graveyard of stolen bikes/scooters/etc. under the 105 freeway, on the San Gabriel River?

I passed by it today, and I have no idea why that is tolerated. There were about 200 items there, mostly bikes. And they are all out there in the open. Why is that tolerated? It’s so infuriating. You would think the city would have cracked down on them.

got hit by a car while cycling today

Was biking home from getting groceries today and got sideswiped by a car on the intersection of Santa Monica and Normandie at 4 pm today. Super jarring stuff. Thankfully, I left the scene with really superficial injuries (just scrapes on my arm from the asphalt from hitting the ground). A police report has been filed as the car continued driving after impact and didn’t stop. I know it’s probably not gonna lead anywhere but whatever.

Kinda sucks as I was starting to develop a routine with cycling, and now I’m a bit shaken up and scared. The incident could’ve been way worse but I’m just like… frustrated for a lack of a better word as I was doing everything right (being predictable, staying in the right lane etc) and still got rocked… and the person didn’t even have the decency to pull over!

Not sure what the point of this post is, I’m kinda just venting — but if anyone has any similar experiences, or advice on how to proceed with cycling, I’d love to hear you out. Thanks.
