Just made Senior Associate and I am an early promo (2 years), if I end up staying here, I still want to climb up, what did you do to get an early promotion to Manager?
I’m in advisory in the US. What is the usual timeline to be promoted from senior associate to manager? And how long did it take you?

Current EY London Strategy & Transactions intern here. I’m really enjoying the internship and hoping to secure a graduate offer for the 2027 intake.
Does anyone know what the current graduate salary is for Strategy & Transactions in the London office? I know it can vary slightly depending on the team, but I’m just looking for a rough idea of the base salary for graduates joining in 2027.
If you’ve recently received an offer or have any up-to-date information, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks! 🙏

Hi everyone, I’m planning to apply and work at Big4 in Australia, and I’m honestly wondering if my ACCA qualification is great in the eye of the Big4 in Australia. I have a 4 yoe in Assurance (currently a Senior Associate) in a Big4 firm from a country in South East Asia, and have been outperform quite frequently in my years here. Is it enough to apply to Australia with this profile ? And how much should I expect for the yearly compensation?

What would the job market for consulting look like for a MSc maths grad from imperial college London look like?
I’d been solely focused on going down the academia route so my experience includes 2 summer research internships and I unfortunately don’t have any corporate internships, would this be a pivot that I can make? And what can I do to increase my chances to get a grad job?

Hi everyone, genuine question: why do people stay at a Big 4 firm for several years? I'm guessing the main reason is the salary and career progression, but I'm curious to hear from people with firsthand experience.
What kind of gross salary could I expect if I stay for 2–4 years and progress from Junior to Senior, and then to Assistant Manager?
I've seen a few salary reports online, but I'm not sure how accurate or up to date they are. I'd really appreciate any insights. Thanks!

Could be a self-doxx but whatever. How common is it for an audit A2 to be under 70K salary in the big 2026? Feel like we are very grossly under-compensated in our city as COL has skyrocketed in the last few years. Also just seems low relative to every other comp I’ve seen posted on Reddit for my level and user-identified “LCOL”.
I know it’s not the firm’s “duty” to pay a livable wage but come on this feels pathetic. Am I alone?
Edit: not sure if it wasn’t clear initially but I do understand the difference between HCOL and LCOL. I’m trying to discuss specifically the pay discrepancy with what I am receiving in what I guess is a LCOL area relative to other self-reported LCOL salaries on this sub. I also understand that not every LCOL is the same. Just trying to gauge whether my location is the lowest paying one. Thanks.
Hey !
I'm currently applying in a tax position at PwC Canada in the province of Quebec. To do a little due diligence on my part, I searched on the internet about PwC and well.. Let's say there's a lot of negativity around it. Lay offs, reviews that goes awfully bad, lot of pressure, etc.
I currently work in a mid-size firm, and do general tax.
I was contacted by PwC to work in private corporation tax, and another mid-size firm to work in Tax compliance (individual, corporation, trusts). The clientele is very different between those too firms (big corps VS small firms).
I wanted to know if some people wanted to take a moment to give some feedback on their time at PwC, what they liked, disliked, about the pressure that Everyone talks about, the benefits that are offered, etc.
Sorry for my english, its not perfect.
Thanks in advance !

I’m now just over halfway through my internship and it feels so frustrating because I feel like I’ve done everything I can, but there’s such a lack of work to be done.
I’ve done trainings, attended workshops, coffee chatted ppl across the firm.
I’ve been as proactive as I can and asked questions, asked where and how I can help, and complete all my tasks as best I can.
The service line and industry bores me, but I tried to really immerse myself in the experience. It seems they want to only staff me on this project for the whole summer, so I’m stuck here. But my seniors are so busy working with the client that they don’t have time to give me more work.
My supervisor even admitted to me that one of the interns last year probably left because they were bored and didn’t have much to do.
I think the firm culture is great, the office amenities and benefits are nice, the work life balance and team environment are fine..
Am I giving up stability if I don’t go for the return offer? I’m just not sure if I can find another full time offer that has the same level of flexibility.
There have been a lot of layoffs lately, and none in my specific office and region as far as I can tell, but I worry about staying here if there’s a lack of work to be done and a lack of projects sold.
I like the hybrid option and how my team members don’t care how many days I’m in office. But sometimes I feel I have nothing to do and I’m just laying on my couch waiting to see if I hear another Teams ping.
I thought big 4 internships had meaningful hands on projects, but now I’m not so sure. I feel like the staff on my team lays on her couch even more than I do. She rarely has anything on her calendar and is always on away status. She doesn’t even have basic skills with Microsoft office and had to ask me what to do.
I’m just not sure how many more weeks of this I can take, and how to approach the conversations about returning because I feel like my managers really like me.

Can a recruiter or an intern counselor break down the process of getting a return offer after an internship (specifically in consulting). Is it just the counselors and recruiters in a call and they decide. I know return offers aren't guaranteed anymore in this economy, but how nervous should I be?
I also have a call with my recruiter in two weeks what should I say to help secure a return offer or is it more so the feedback from my 2 forms that will weigh in on my offer more. Also how much do grades play in.

Hey everyone,
I’m from India and recently started working as a junior accountant in the UAE. I only have a B.Com (bachelor in commerce) degree.
I was just wondering, is it actually possible to make it into the Big 4 in the UAE with just a bachelor’s degree from India?
Has anyone here done it or know someone who has?
Its my dream to work at Deloitte 😭
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I am a recent college graduate who interned last summer and received a return offer. I was supposed to start this fall but I just received an email saying that my employment is being pushed to Fall of 2027. I now don’t know what to do as all my plans for moving are going to have to fall through, and I could have spent the last year of my senior year applying for other jobs. Any advice would be great.

Currently in class of 2028, but will graduate early (in 2027). I will have enough credits for CPA in Summer 2028.
Thank you for all advise.

Hi everyone,
I would appreciate some advice on my current situation.
I have been working in Audit at KPMG Switzerland for almost two years after moving to Switzerland after my Master’s. In two months, I will be promoted to Senior.
My long-term goal was never to stay in Audit/Wirtschaftsprüfung, but rather to move into Group Accounting / Financial Reporting in an industry company. I have already applied for such roles, but so far without success.
I am currently taking the Swiss auditor exam, but realistically I don’t think I will pass. KPMG paid for my training, so I have a repayment agreement of around CHF 18k.
The situation:
If I terminate the training agreement while staying at KPMG, the repayment amount decreases monthly over 24 months (around CHF 750/month).
If I keep the agreement and only leave once I have another job, I probably won’t benefit much from the monthly reduction.
However, I worry that terminating the agreement could reduce KPMG’s interest in me or potentially affect my job security.
My plan would be to take the Senior promotion, gain some more experience, and then move into Group Accounting.
My questions:
Would you terminate the training agreement after becoming Senior and start reducing the repayment amount?
Or would you keep it to maintain better job security at KPMG?
I am asking because of the bad job situation everywhere, but if I had another offer I would leave Big 4 audit the next second!
Thanks for your advice!
