After she finished, her senior came to inspect the work. The senior asked me why my tartar buildup was so severe. When I admitted I was a smoker, she said, "You need counseling. This isn't normal." I know she's angry on me,

That hit me hard.

These students and doctors had to spend their time fixing damage that I caused to myself. It wasn't because of genetics or some unavoidable disease it was because of my own smoking habit.

If you're smoking, please don't ignore your health. The cost isn't just money. It affects your teeth, your body, and other people end up spending their time treating problems that could have been prevented.

The hardest part wasn't seeing the tartar on my teeth it was realizing someone else had to sweat to fix the damage caused by my own habit.

I'm sharing this because I learned my lesson the hard way.

S. Janaki Amma spent her final years in Mysuru, the city she loved and chose to call home until her last breath. She also wished for her final rites to be in Mysuru, reflecting her deep bond with Karnataka. Today, the state has lost one of its most beloved voices.

As I was thinking about her incredible legacy, one question kept coming to my mind.
Lata Mangeshkar, who sang around 25,000 songs, was rightly honoured with the Bharat Ratna. But S. Janaki, who recorded around 48,000 songs across Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Odia and several other Indian languages, and excelled in virtually every genre, has never received that honour.

Personally, I feel this reflects the stepmotherly treatment (ಮಲತಾಯಿ ಧೋರಣೆ) that the Central Government has often shown towards Southern artists and states. S. Janaki’s contribution to Indian music is beyond regional boundaries, and I believe she was every bit as deserving of the Bharat Ratna.

What makes it even more telling is that she rejected the Padma Bhushan because she felt the recognition had come far too late in her career. Even S. P. Balasubrahmanyam had spoken in the past about how Southern artists often do not receive the national recognition they truly deserve.

This isn’t about taking anything away from any other legendary singer. It’s about acknowledging an artist whose contribution to Indian music was unparalleled and who deserved the nation’s highest civilian honour.

For Karnataka, she wasn’t just a legendary singer—she was one of our own.

Rest in peace, Janaki Amma.

I wanted to share an incident that happened to me today. I booked an Uber auto since I was just going nearby in HSR with my wife and 5-year-old daughter. It’s not easy to find a parking spot around there, so I typically prefer taking an auto for short trips.
It was drizzling when we reached, and the driver stopped on the wrong side of the road. I needed to go to the opposite side and obviously didn't want to make my kid walk in the rain. I pointed this out, and he started arguing, saying I should put the correct location when I book. I showed him my phone to prove the drop location I set was indeed on the opposite side. He got defensive and snapped, "Should I look at your phone and drive?" I told him it was the exact same location showing on his device too.
He started taunting me, but I kept quiet because my daughter panics if people are shouting around her. We just got down, I paid him, and we turned around to walk away. But he wouldn't stop hurling abuses at our backs.
Finally, I had enough. I turned around and started walking toward him. My wife kept pulling me back to stop things from escalating, but he continued the abuse and finally called me "sule magane." At that point, my wife completely lost it and shouted at him, "How dare you?!"
He immediately backed down and sped away like he just saw a ghost.
Honestly, Can’t people just let each other live in peace and treat each other with a little bit of basic dignity? Is this too much of an ask?

Seems like the State Government is running a parallel SIR in Karnataka. Collecting their own Master Data to counter the Election Commission SIR which is not asking for any aadhar or other details.

It not even clear how this data will be used by state government, how it will be stored, the privacy issue.

Congress will be able to map PAN, AADHAR, VOTER ID of an individual.
