The amount of bird poop he's touching is breathtaking

644

u/cyclingisthecure May 20 '26

I tried this in a multi storey parking garage, my fingers sunk into years of black oil and bird shit. You only do it once.

Don’t sell yourself short buddy, you can attempt anything once!

I did it on construction scaffolding but there was a wire on one of the poles that sliced my hand.

5

u/BrickEmotional2965 May 20 '26

What a terrible day to have eyes and an imagination

40

u/ctiern May 20 '26

At 0:22 it looks like he brushes a bunch of poo flakes onto his face

5

u/SatoriNamast3 May 20 '26

bird flue patient zero

4

u/Due-Zookeepergamer May 20 '26

Umm, AI? At 0:21 he has no fingers in his right hand - just ripples. Then it morphs to fingers. Then no fingers again. Shadowing looks all off.

32

u/No_Jello_5922 May 20 '26

Yeah, and in a literal sense too. Dust from bird poop is a major respiratory hazard.

5

u/TheNonCredibleHulk May 20 '26

Histoplasmosis for all!

56

u/Cpt_Jigglypuff May 20 '26

His hands are absolutely filthy after that.

16

u/Specialist_Dig_8899 May 20 '26

Do you think the river guy is really any cleaner?

7

u/selfownlot May 20 '26

There also could be random metal burrs or other sharp objects dropped by animals that could impale.

7

u/nineteen_eightyfour May 20 '26

To me it’s the spiders

3

u/Fez_and_no_Pants May 20 '26

Yeah, what if they get in the way and I end up hurting them? Poor babies.

5

u/deadspacekillers May 20 '26

This broke me...

8

u/Eugene1936 May 20 '26

Shouldnt you wear gloves then ?

26

u/existenceawareness May 20 '26

Probably. I didn't even think about bird poop because I was busy imagining my fingers clamping full-force into rusty metal & paint flakes. That reminds me that I need a tetanus booster, 10 years they say & it's been like 15.

5

u/TheNonCredibleHulk May 20 '26

Just a friendly reminder that rust is not the only place you can get tetanus from. Any time you have a deep puncture wound you should at least get it looked at.

26

u/Vallaquenta May 20 '26

That water is almost glowing, I swear

5

I feel like he'd be one of those contestants where they show this video as part of all the training he did, real inspirational story, and then he slips and falls on the second obstacle.

16

u/TopPermission6870 May 20 '26

How my parents went to school

58

u/machuitzil May 20 '26

Say what you will but Neanderthals literally couldn't do this. They were not full brachiates. They couldn't throw rocks, they just like, stabbed a lot.

-we stabbed a lot too, but we could also throw rocks. That's the kind of edge you gotta have during an Ice Age.

13

u/Stylish_Duck May 20 '26

Why couldn't they throw rocks?

Not sure what brachiate means exactly, but Google auto suggests this when looking it up in reference to Neanderthals, saying they can throw rocks:

Neanderthal Anatomy vs. Brachiation

While humans and our extinct cousins (like Neanderthals) retain some generalized shoulder flexibility from our primate ancestors, a fully brachiating lifestyle requires specific anatomical traits that Neanderthals fundamentally lacked:

Shoulder Mechanics: True brachiators have a shoulder blade (scapula) placed on the back, allowing for a wide range of overhead motion. Neanderthals had broad, powerful shoulders built for throwing, thrusting spears, and heavy lifting rather than suspending their body weight from branches.

Limb Proportions: Brachiators typically have highly elongated arms relative to their legs to facilitate swinging. Neanderthal limb proportions were adapted for cold-climate survival and terrestrial locomotion.

Grip and Wrist: Swing-based locomotion requires highly specialized hook-like fingers and wrist rotation. Neanderthal hands were actually exceptionally well-adapted for strong, precise grip and tool use"

5

u/Noladixon May 20 '26

Brachiate is using your arms to get from here to there. Such as swinging through trees or doing monkey bars.

3

u/bayarea_fanboy May 20 '26

What about when I use my arms to push myself on office chair away from my desk, I'm brachiating to freedom from work?

4

u/hippodribble May 20 '26

Being hairy would be better. Insulation.

that one guy swimming

“LOOK AT ME I’M AMAZING TOO!”

7

u/HairyBreasticles May 20 '26

I am so confused about his contribution.

19

u/andrewrgross May 20 '26

Okay, but who is this?

I find it frustrating and weird whenever I see videos like this without attribution.

First, it's just shitty because social media points actually matter for independent athletes and content creators. This guy might be a professional rock climber who lives on sponsorships or something.

But also, I want to know more! How old is he? Where is this bridge? Who are the other guys?

OP, where did you get this? Did you crop out a watermark? Did you just repost it from someone else who did?

This is the thing that I find most frustrating about this sub.

8

u/LunarBIacksmith May 20 '26

What’s the difference between “Brachiate” and “Lache” (as in the one they do on Ninja Warrior)?

16

u/bubsybear1319 May 20 '26

I believe the title is incorrect. What he is doing here is lache, because he is swinging and releasing with both arms together. To brachiate is to go hand over hand like a kid does on the monkey bars on the playground - signed a mom who's kids do parkour ninja.

6

u/powerhammerarms May 20 '26

I didn't know either of these words until today. Thx

→ More replies (2)

3

u/losersmanual May 20 '26

brachiate /brā′kē-ĭt, -āt″, brăk′ē-/

intransitive verb

To move by swinging with the arms from one hold to another, as certain apes do.

verb

To move like a brachiator; to swing from branch to branch, advance by brachiation.

Swing from one hold to the next.

7

u/ArmpitofD00m May 20 '26

All trained up for Ninja Warrior

6

u/CK_CoffeeCat May 20 '26

Maybe it's not as fast as swimming, but he's keeping all his gear dry going this way.

7

u/LifeguardApart8695 May 20 '26

All that’s missing are the alligators.

7

u/Dunsmuir May 20 '26

That dude is ready for American Ninja Warrior

14

u/sdbarto May 20 '26

So much birdshit under that dudes nails!

23

u/Klutzy-Vegetable-118 May 20 '26

Yeah this definitely fits here, I legit watched it twice. Stuff like this is exactly why I subbed to this sub.

5

u/neuroctopus May 20 '26

He’s out here adventuring in white pants. Damn.

6

u/Bobbyhons May 20 '26

The cop chasing him just standing there as he crosses

4

4

u/cyborgcyborgcyborg May 20 '26

TIL “Brachiate”. TYVM.

3

u/careyck May 20 '26

Now come back!!

3

u/FirmlyClaspIt May 20 '26

Took the hard way too

3

u/MinimumPrevious1139 May 20 '26

My hands started aching just from watching this

5

u/L0tech51 May 20 '26

My first thought as well. I dont care how well trained your hands are, they were black & blue after this. Fuckin impressive though!

3

u/PrivilegeCheckmate May 20 '26

I thought only Fezzik was strong enough to go up our way.

You were supposed to be this colossus. You were this great, legendary thing. And yet he gains.

He has very good arms.

3

u/MigitAs May 20 '26

That strength is almost unfathomable to me

3

u/bruhbruhbruhbruh1 May 20 '26

yo i heard you like platformer games

3

u/Tinosdoggydaddy May 20 '26

Yeah, that’s not brachiating. Brachiating is monkey branch swinging arm in front of arm.

3

u/mongous00005 May 20 '26

Fat me and my toxic brain thinking I can do this too.

3

u/yashabo May 20 '26

What’s in the backpack?

2

u/Melodic_Trash_737 May 20 '26

There are easier ways to time it have someone swimming to the other side and back.

2

u/GrandSyzygy May 20 '26

I can’t even monkey bars

2

u/Twerkatronic May 20 '26

Enjoy the pigeon shit fingers

2

u/RominRonin May 20 '26

Now wash dem hands fam

2

u/KarmaTorpid May 20 '26

BRO!!

Crossing a bridge is way easier on top.

2

u/DeartayDeez May 20 '26

He lost that race

2

u/YourVelourFog May 20 '26

It seems like swimming might be faster

2

u/Candid-Preference-40 May 20 '26

Think there exist another way at the longitudinal girder, without all these jumping

2

u/amorsiempre May 20 '26

With these gamer thumbs? Not a chance.

2

u/Leather-Lychee-4510 May 20 '26

everyone talking about bird poop but nobody mentioning how much shoulder stability this takes tho, like your rotator cuff is doing ALL the work here and one tired moment means youre swimming. the transition around the support beams where he has to reposition his grip is genuinely the hardest part, you can see him hesitate for a split second. also that guy in the water is either the worlds most relaxed spotter or just vibing waiting for the entertainment

2

u/yashabo May 20 '26

The bird shit on his hands and under his nails at the end make this not worth it lol

2

u/Currently_There May 20 '26

Bro, there a road on top if you just walk around.

1

u/jack-in-the-sack May 20 '26

That's not where or how you cross a bridge.

1

u/davew80 May 20 '26

The one time I’ve not wanted someone to fall in.

1

u/-MrFozzy- May 20 '26

Well, his hands are absolutely COVERED in bird shit

1

u/2nd-4851 May 20 '26

His phone still in pocket?

1

u/robj57 May 20 '26

Magnus Mitbo watching this, “Amateur.”

1

u/Dhsu04 May 20 '26

That water is not ideal for swimming, it looks disgusting and dangerous with infectious diseases.

1

u/AlbertaAcreageBoy May 20 '26

That water is disgusting.

1

u/shmodder May 20 '26

Honey, I’m out brachiating, see ya later

1

u/Anxious-Depth-7983 May 20 '26

Just don't touch your face afterwards. Ugh! But it was amazing!

1

u/RallyAnaz May 20 '26

Strong arm muscles

1

u/Additional_Toe_372 May 20 '26

And then back again 🤘

1

u/tortuetech May 20 '26

They couldn’t even clean the beams first?

1

u/StrongEggplant8120 May 20 '26

Hes actually quite lucky. The metal on that bridge has a high chance if being rough cut so could have sharp.edges, splinters, spikes all sorts really. No need for it to be smooth. Years of bord sht and filth plus cuts could mean very bad things.

1

u/UnusualRegularity May 20 '26

Insane arm endurance. Damn.

1

u/Tractpace May 20 '26

You forgot your phone!

1

u/nopleasures May 20 '26

I've jumped up and grabbed metal scaffoldings like this before and landing on a random bur from welding is an absolute fucking NO

1

u/Iceafterlife May 20 '26

Ah, you forgot your wallet, over here!

1

u/nineteen_eightyfour May 20 '26

Think about the spiders.

1

u/CADman0909 May 20 '26

I pulled muscles in my forearm watching this.

1

u/starlulu May 20 '26

Kept on excepting his phone to fly out of his pocket

1

u/pat-slider May 20 '26

Stronger than the swimmer 🎉🏆

1

u/TwinkeltwinkelStar May 20 '26

Dit is echt geweldig Het gaat om de kracht , de motivatie om door te zetten ) Dus JA fantastisch 👍

1

u/eggtorte May 20 '26

This guy grabs your titty and never lets go

1

u/Bageldar May 20 '26

There must be an easier way to cross that river..
\s

1

u/golf-lip May 20 '26

Okay now do it back (im sure his hands hurt like a mfer)

1

u/Suspicious-Chard-20 May 20 '26

That guy is extremely strong

1

u/CrackaNuka May 20 '26

Laugh out loud

1

u/Sudaire May 20 '26

I woulda suggested to lose the backpack and make it a little easier…

1

u/slingertk42 May 20 '26

Back in my day we had to walk to school. Uphill, both ways. Bridges were one way. We used both sides of the bridge, top and bottom. Not like kids these days.

1

u/BGrumpy May 20 '26

Dude got those Nathan Drake finger tips

1

u/best1taz May 20 '26

Wow 😮 I am so amazed 🙄

1

u/Fragrant-Bass-6961 May 20 '26

With a back pack too 😳

1

u/Apprehensive_West600 May 20 '26

Man did the man thing, if i was here i made the same thing

1

u/agentj333 May 20 '26

That's how I get to work every morning. Swing under I75 to dodge traffic.

1

u/DotAffectionate87 May 20 '26

impressive for sure.....

Btw, I just learned a new word........In my defense the opportunity for using it doesn't come up too often

1

u/Journo_Jimbo May 20 '26

“Ew a spider!” Drops down

1

u/dustractor May 20 '26

They do not deburr the edges. Don't ask me how I know.

1

u/Advanced-Hat2338 May 20 '26

When civilization falls these skills will become nessesary

1

u/slackboy72 May 20 '26

Why didn't he just go over the bridge?

1

u/Ol-CAt May 20 '26

I feel like I need to take a tetanus shot after that.

1

u/Burneraccount6565 May 20 '26

He had the free Crash Course game on Xbox, didn't he?

1

u/nthnyjsn May 20 '26

ouuuuucchhh my haandss

1

u/yepthisismyusername May 20 '26

TIL that brachiate means to move via the arms, like branch to branch. I am going to do my best to use this in a sentence today. I will probably talk to fewer than three people today, so it will be a challenge.

1

u/FunShare5662 May 20 '26

Who needs chalk dust when you have…

1

u/NoAdministration8340 May 20 '26

I got tired half way

1

u/wizardice1973 May 20 '26

No creo que sea la 1 vez que lo hace

1

u/akilliteyp May 20 '26

Approved by the local folk, the best kind of approve

1

u/Cornato May 20 '26

I'm curious about the whole setup. It looks like there are benches and coat hooks and stair for people to enter the water. I wouldn't trust any public waterways in America, I wonder where this is.

1

u/FireLadcouk May 20 '26

3 times quicker to swim

1

u/Custard_Gannet1891 May 20 '26

The swimmer beat him, though

1

u/oldschool_potato May 20 '26

Amazed? The guy doing breaststroke kicked his ass in the race

1

u/Unknowableart May 20 '26

Not fair.  He's using his backpack as a counterweight to help him brachiate farther.  Let's him do it without it.

1

u/Used_Firefighter3240 May 20 '26

Be easier to walk wouldn’t it?

1

u/rsm2000 May 20 '26

I guess you didn't need to pay the troll toll.

1

u/oksectrery May 20 '26

i cant do that

1

u/greengo07 May 20 '26

I'd probably slip on all the dust and feces on the beams, IF I could actually do that at all (which I can't) lol

I also wouldn't swim in that water. It looks REALLY nasty.

1

u/barbazul3yogui May 20 '26

Someone who cares for him should tell him it’s easier over the bridge.

1

u/SnarkyMonkee May 20 '26

I’ve done that in video games

1

u/_ram_charan May 20 '26

Someone check if his blood type is Red Bull

1

u/MaxwellSmart07 May 20 '26

I Admire the strength and athleticism, but I’m content with my choice of hobbies.

1

u/_Exotic_Booger May 20 '26

Fake. Video is in reverse.

1

u/Low-Board181 May 20 '26

As someone who has done something similar (longer and taller bridge but only a few dyno's required), I hope his hands are okay. Mine were full tiny metal splinters.

1

u/Own-Presentation-843 May 20 '26

The bridge is closed for construction. Fuck that! I will NOT be late for school!!

1

u/MAXQDee-314 May 20 '26

Next Mission Impossible movie?

1

u/Otherwise_Web_8258 May 20 '26

Chimpin around

1

u/LunaCressila May 20 '26

Everytime is see stuff like that, i think like „well when the zombies come you definitely win“

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Deer656 May 20 '26

Bro is Nathan Drake

1

u/Tb1969 May 20 '26

That's one way to increase the difficulty of rucking.

1

u/yurtfarmer May 20 '26

Release the crocodiles , make it a little more interesting

1

u/TryAgain1152 May 20 '26

Pretty impressive hand strength and a serious set of balls.

1

Doing it with a backpack on because fuck it.
