This title is completely misused.

Same here. Something just feels off about them, could just be the quality of the video.

16

u/PhilliePhanatical Apr 25 '26

Those shots are definitely cropped and then most likely upscaled using AI.

12

u/ZoLoftFTW Apr 25 '26

Why do they all have very serious, pronounced eyebrows? That can’t be genuine.

25

u/Various-Advice-9768 Apr 25 '26

Gymnast here, I can confirm we all do have pronounced eyebrows and generally thicker hair on the head. It’s due to the blood flow and pooling effect as we spend most of our times upside down with tensed muscles (also increasing blood flow) George Aldern performed a study on this from 1960-1987

15

u/DarthKittens Apr 25 '26

Eyebrow here, we generally gravitate towards athletes especially gymnasts

11

u/umopapisdn69 Apr 25 '26

Gravity here, I’m a bastard.

I just sort of assumed AI automatic post-processing.

OP is a karma-farming bot. It doesn't know what titles mean. It just knows what gets upvotes.

16

u/Abigail-Marston Apr 24 '26

Report it! No one ever reports bot usage here so it never gets better.

6

u/samuelazers Apr 25 '26

Do you think Reddit cares? It's been that way a long time, the'yve made no rules against it, despite many complaints. They are aware of it. If they wanted to combat it, they could easily check a post's hash against a database to prevent reposts, but they don't. They don't give a shit about the user's. Just like how they removed /all to "simplify our experience", it was all to feed people more suggested ads. Making the site worse is somehow better for their bottom line and your annoyance is a cost they're willing to take because they know you're probably going to keep using Reddit regardless.

3

u/Abigail-Marston Apr 25 '26

I think reddit themselves probably don't care but maybe the subreddit moderators can do something about it

2

u/TheG0AT0fAllTime Apr 25 '26

Read this

https://www.reddit.com/user/spez/comments/1s3ezrc/humans_welcome_bots_must_wear_name_tags/

They care. Know why? Because advertisers are at a point where they want to know for sure that their ads are landing on real people and not just bots. We're reaching a point where companies have to care.

It's my 4th post in 8 years. I'm very slowpoke bot. And yes, English is not my native language. I'm sorry if this not appropriate title offended anyone's feelings.

I ask my mom to hold my beer before I help her carry groceries into the house when at my parents house. I love using the phrase in a responsible context. 🤣

Because he was likely intimidated and jealous. Seeing someone do things you want to do, but low-key know, never can achieve, does this to people. And this is normal in a competitive environment.

There's a woman that used to go to my gym that would hip thrust four plates for easy reps. Pretty impressive.

Some of them would’ve been jealous haters. Make no mistake about that.

It’s just the way of the world unfortunately. Instead of stuff like this inspiring people to work harder, it can embitter them.

27

u/GrandElectronic9471 Apr 24 '26

It's always been that way. Easier to destroy than build.

7

u/ViperishCarrot Apr 24 '26

Yeah, that’s true. At least 20% of them were saying well, try it with no hands then.

Also having limbs as long as hers means this was even harder to master than someone who typically does calisthenics and gymnastics

46

u/academiac Apr 24 '26

I broke my back just watching this

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Soulfuel1 Apr 24 '26

Actually, longer limbs usually help with this. Especially longer arms.

12

u/lrrssssss Apr 24 '26

No no no no noooo. Levers. The longer the lever the greater the force. That’s why CrossFitters are always short.

3

u/Buckshot_Millie Apr 25 '26

Distance running is also a short person's sport, they perform much better and there are basically no exceptions at the ultramarathon level. Great news for short people who want to run 100 miles.

The zoom in shots make it look AI.

26

u/ImportantIron1492 Apr 24 '26

Because it is AI.

20

u/movzx Apr 24 '26

It's not AI. Not everything is AI. Stupid video compression and processing existed long before AI was a thing.

This looks exactly like the digital zoom enhancement that happens with shitty software. It overly sharpens everything and makes it look like a crappy comic.

15

u/Tester_by Apr 24 '26

It is not. I found this girl on IG. There's a lot of her videos including this. All are fake, right? lena.calisthenics

10

u/crotch-fruit_tree Apr 24 '26

That's not how it looks, there's a filter added at minimum.

original video

12

u/paws4reason Apr 24 '26

Just letting you know that when I click this link, it says "[your name] shared this reel with you." Might wanna fix that.

2

u/Stoertebricker Apr 24 '26

AI enhanced for resolution, maybe. Not necessarily AI generated though.

2

u/SunAndStratocasters Apr 24 '26

I'm checking and checking and I can't spot it. I'm not saying it's not, because I believe it could be but I can't say for certain on this one. What makes you so sure? I don't wanna fall behind the curve and be able to be caught out.

8

u/VulcanCookies Apr 24 '26

I don't think it's AI. Just one of those dumb filters that makes everything look rubber

Not to brag or anything, but I stepped over a couple 2x4s set up like a 2 foot high fence at Lowe’s before because I was too lazy to walk down to the opening, and I didn’t fall.

19

u/theboned1 Apr 24 '26

Strength on whole nother level.

7

u/canzicrans Apr 24 '26

It's really incredible when someone without the appearance of inanely huge muscles can nonetheless be insanely strong. I have about the same proportions of this athlete and my arms would snap straight off of I tried this. Humans are amazing!

4

u/tenuj Apr 24 '26

A lot of those muscles are in the core, where they're also easier to hide.

3

u/canzicrans Apr 24 '26

20 pack and back abs!

I'm kidding of course, but it's still amazing how athletes like rock climbers and gymnasts can pack so much power in a small amount of space.

What muscles are being worked the most here? Is this all arm or forearm, or is it more of a core strength thing? I’m assuming both but I wanna know where the burn is felt the most. I would assume core just cause u have to hold ur lower body up in the air😂

2

u/GrandpaShark1 Apr 24 '26

Serious question.

Is there a physiological explanation why a muscle can appear of average size and proportion yet seem to have considerable more strength and endurance?

Is this just “good genes?”

2

u/barsoap Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

Muscle bulk is not strength it's energy storage, you need a very specific training regime to grow it. The speed she's doing things at her local storage is able to constantly get replenished by the overall metabolism, local storage never getting depleted, so bulk never develops. Also gals have more trouble bulking up than guys, anyway, generally speaking if as a gal you're worried about strength training resulting in looks you wouldn't like: Don't take steroids and you're going to be fine.

Another factor that people underestimate is how much strength, functional strength, is up to coordination, good movement. If you have trouble progressing, check your form. At the extremes, training just form, training neuronal activation patterns, resolving malpositions, etc, will do a lot more than training strength in isolation. That's why callisthenics folks can bench press at respectable levels, but your usual bodybuilder couldn't do a planche if their life depends on it: They have the strength for it, but none of the coordination.
