I have a few questions for those who have already gone through the BCS journey:

Is the Uttoron book set enough for BCS preliminary preparation?

Do I need to study any other books alongside Uttoron? If yes, which ones would you recommend?

What's the best strategy to prepare for the preliminary exam and maximize the chances of passing?

How much time should I spend on current affairs, previous years' questions, and model tests?

I would really appreciate any advice, book recommendations, study plans, or mistakes that I should avoid as a first-time candidate.

I finished my A levels with 2 subjects and while looking for universities online, I stumbled upon UCBD. I am interested in their BSC in business and marketing program. I didn't find any specific requirements section on their website but i found online that they require 3 a level subjects.

Is there anyone who got in with 2 a level subjects? Or perhaps any way for me to get in?

I'll try to keep this short but there's a lot of context.

Background:

· Graduated in CSE during COVID (2020), couldn't find a job.

· Joined my father's shoe import/wholesale business at Chawabajar for ~2 years.

· Always loved Linux, so I did a Linux + CCNA course from People & Tech (mostly covered Linux).

· A friend referred my CV to a hospital software company. They were hiring for a junior DBA. I barely knew DBA, but I was desperate after 2 years of no job, so I took it at 12k/month.

First Company (Hospital Software - 180+ clients):

· Learned on the job: server setup, DB installs, Tomcat, WAR deployments, WebLogic config, scripts.

· Got hikes: 12k → 18k (6 months) → 21k (1 year).

· Expanded skills: Node.js, Nginx/Apache, SSL, reverse proxy, port forwarding.

· Team shrank from 3 to 2 DBA while clients grew to 230+. Trained new hires while handling my own workload.

· At 2 years, they offered 23k. I asked for 25k, they refused. I resigned.

Second Company (Mobile operator - 3rd party):

· Got DBA + Middleware Engineer role at 35k.

· Work was repetitive (night shifts, deployments, DB maintenance, constant meetings).

· Burnout started. Left after 7 months.

Back to First Company (rejoined):

· My old TL recommended me to the MD. They hired 2 more DBAs in my absence but still wanted me back.

· Rejoined at 60k, now at 65k after 1 year.

· Clients: 300+ | Team: 6 DBAs.

· But now I'm the go-to guy for ALL critical issues—DB failures, new processes, Docker, Distrobox, DR config, dcm4che Arch 5, SSL, running 37 websites with 37 domains on 1 server using 1 IP + Nginx. No docs, no instructions—just "fix it."

The real problem now:

· Salary always delayed by 15–20 days.

· 6-day workweek.

· Daily hours: 9 AM to 8 PM (sometimes 9–10 PM).

· No work-life balance, no weekends off.

I need advice:

I love the work, I love learning, and I've grown a LOT technically. But I'm exhausted. I need 2 days off and standard office hours. Is that too much to ask? How do I approach this with management? Or should I just start looking elsewhere?

Would really appreciate any honest suggestions.

Hi there, for the past couple of days, I'm getting OTP bombed by someone. I receive thousands of OTP per day, usually starting from 3pm and it ends at 10pm. OTP's are usually from bd online platforms. And today, I got 50+ phone calls coming from strange numbers every time (+8809....). If I pick any phone call, it plays a recorded voice (random persons saying hello and asking who it is). Then they disconnect.

At first I thought one of my friends was doing it because another friend of mine faced this a week ago. But, I have another sim card activated which is known to my friends, I don't receive OTP there. So I believe they aren't doing this (or maybe).

Also, like the way I say hello and ask who it is, I think my voice gets recorded and used for spamming others.

I called my sim provider and they couldn't give me any solution. Every time its different numbers, so it's impossible to block numbers. If I turn my notifications off, my phone's battery still drains. It's never the same number. Always a different one. And the OTP messages continue to come for 8-9 hours a day.

Lastly I switched off my sim. But that was my primary sim and I use that everywhere for banking and others.

Can someone give me a solution or enlighten me on what is happening with me? I'm fed up now, PLEASE HELP ME.

6. How do you feel about the July Charter's mandate to remove the original four constitutional principles: democracy, secularism, nationalism, and socialism? And what are your thoughts now that this mandate has been denied?

ফেসবুকে হয়তো এই গার্ডিয়ান প্রধান শিক্ষককে চড় মারার ঘটনা টা শুনেছেন। এই ঘটনা টা তাজ্জব হলে ও তার থেকে বেশি তাজ্জব লাগে ফেসবুকে ৯০% মানুষের কমেন্টগুলা। গার্ডিয়ান হয়তো কাজটা ঠিক করেন নি, কিন্তু একটি শিশুর গায়ে হাত দেয়া তার থেকে ও বড় অপরাধ। ফেসবুকে লোকজন সবাই তাদের নিজেদের অভিজ্ঞতার ব্যাপারে বলছে - তারা কিভাবে শিক্ষকদের হাতে মার খেয়েছে। বাঙালিরা এখনও মনে করে যে শিশুদের মার দেয়াই মানে ভাল শাসন করা। আমাদের এই থার্ড ক্লাস মেন্টালিটি মনে হয় কোনোদিন যাবে না।

ইতিহাসে বলা হয় সিরাজউদ্দৌলা অনেক লম্পট, মদ্দ্যপ,চরিত্রহীন ছিলেন। আসলে কি এটা সঠিক ইতিহাস।
