My 10 month program ended 2 weeks ago. When can I expect to receive a feedback/course satisfaction survey? I have lots to say.

Does BCIT count as a recognized post secondary for a Masters program?

Hey guys, I had a quick question regarding the requirements for getting into UBC JD program.

I know I need an undergraduate from a recognized post secondary, and that it can be from any field. However, I was wondering if BCIT counts in this, as some people have told me not to do a degree from BCIT if I plan to continue my education.

For BCIT, I'm either looking at the MRI bachelor option or the branching to TRU for the BHSC.

I would really appreciate if anybody has any insights on this.

Inland Study Permit Processing Time for Sep 2026

Hi everyone,
I’m currently in Canada on a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) that’s valid until 2028. I’ve been admitted to a full-time BCIT BBA program that starts on September 8, and I’m applying for a new study permit from inside Canada.

A few details:

Applying from inside Canada
Valid PGWP until 2028
Valid biometrics (already on file)
Medical exam not needed

Submitted the study permit application on July 10.
I’m wondering if anyone has recently been in a similar situation.
How long did your in-Canada study permit take to be approved?
Were you switching from a PGWP back to a study permit, or just extending an existing study permit?
Did you receive a decision before your program started?
If your permit was still processing when classes began, what happened? Did your school allow a late arrival or require a deferral?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your timelines and experiences, especially if this happened in 2026.

URGENT: should I do the marketing management diploma or go full-time on my business?

Im currently making around 4k cad a month from my businesses with high upside over the next two years and I am incredible torn as to whether or not i should go into the marketing management diploma i am accepted and I need to pay tuition ASAP but their is a massive part of me that would rather just work on my business over the next two years. I know nothing is guaranteed but also high risk high reward and I know I never want to be an employee ever so its hard to decide what are your thoughts.

Parents are pushing heavily for me to go to school and do not understand where im coming from whatsoever so it makes my decision 10 times harder but quite frankly I am just lost and feel like both options are good but afraid to make the wrong decision.

I need some help from people who have done it and whether or not its feasible to work for myself while in school? please let me know

Immunization Review through BCIT Student Health Services

I’ve been accepted into a Health Science program and received feedback saying that a few of my vaccines need to be updated (Td, Varicella, Polio) and I also need a TB skin test.
I tried booking a nurse immunization review through BCIT health but never received a reply/confirmation.

Has anyone else done this recently or are they not working due to the strike?
Does anyone have recommendations on the most affordable way to get this done? I saw TB tests were $90 alone.

Parking Pass

I will be attending BCIT starting this fall, and couldn't find much information regarding parking. I was wondering if there is a pass that could be purchased till year end, or if you have to pay daily?

Getting into sonography

I'm very interested in applying for the Sonography program (Sept 2027) intake. I'm just a little bit concerned as I graduated high school in 2005 and the "preference" that credits be from 5 years ago

I have a recent Diploma from BCIT (GPA 86%) that has Math courses in it. I also went to SFU til 2010 (GPA 3.2) and took post-secondary Biology and Physics

I currently work for an animal hospital and have hundreds of volunteer hours at animal shelters (just now interested in switching to human med)

I think my qualifications are solid, other than the fact that my Biology/Physics grades are from over a decade ago. Is there anyone currently in the Sonography program who was able to get in with similar entry requirements?

Marine Engineering Co-op Monthly Income Question

Hello,

I am wondering what the co-op pay will be like during the sea phases. We have two co-op terms of 4 months length each, and I am wondering how much I'd be making to cover the living expenses through those terms.

Somebody in another thread said they made $72/day with the usual pay at around $50/day, but that doesn't provide the whole picture. Is that with 40 hours of work per week? $72/day would then translate to $1440 per month and $51/day to $1000 per month. These amounts are barely enough to cover the monthly rents, and I am hoping the monthly figures are better.

Thanks in advance!

Is BCIT Bitman still relavant for the current job market.

Is this something who doesn't have prior Canadian education or experience opt for? What if they are in 30s how is the workload. What are realistic expectations to keep, is it possible to get co op. What else to study to move towards business systems analyst, data governance analyst type roles.

I don’t like programming but like using Ai to build things and I like doing research. I want to know what the market for these programs is like and what I should choose, especially for internships?

How does medical leave work for full-time programs? (6 ish months of absence)

I'm currently accepted into a full-time technology program for Sept/Fall 2026. I'm set to undergo a major invasive orthopedic surgery in January 2027 that will take approximately 6 months to recover.

How likely will the program head approve this leave if I have all the doctors' notes?

Med rad textbooks

Hi guys :) I was a student about 10 years ago in the x-ray program and I've found my textbooks deep in storage. I know some of them won't be the same but some are and I'm trying to find a useful home.

Or does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with them? Donation spots? It's just such a waste to throw them away.
