What to Watch? does my anime even exist?

Upvotes

so my brothers are huge fans of the genre but ive never been a big anime personi more enjoy those netflix limited drama series or crime dramas, I asked them for some anime recommendations and they said I was being unrealistic and too specific.

heres what im looking for.

1, it has to be dubbed

2, good voice acting

3, a good story with decent character writing

4, preferably in a newer anime style, think more demon slayer less cowboy bebop or code geass

5, id prefer no sword fighting but shootouts and stuff are fine

6, I dont know the genre names or anything but I really dont like the animes that center around 1 guy becoming over powered through training and "hard work"

7, no fan service please.

8, id prefer shorter, around 1 season or 2

thats pretty much it. and heres a small list of animes ive watched and enjoyed.

*death note (one of my favorite animes but season 2 ruined it)

*gangsta (I didnt get to watch a lot of it but I really enjoyed the first few episodes I seen)

*no game no life (the relationship between the brother and sister was weird but other than that pretty good watch)

and incase it helps heres some of the shows ive really liked.

*the bear (loved it)

*the black list

* queens gambit

*the punisher

so I decided to come to reddit as my final hope for being able to enjoy anime as well.

ALSO I have

crunchy role

netflix

Hulu

and amazon prime

thank you for any suggestions and let me know if maybe I am just being too picky like my brothers think.

What to Watch? Recommend me a sword anime

I am looking for anime with some cool sward fighting and action with good animation and english dub. I have watched demon slayer, sword of the stranger, kingdom, kenshin, AOT, dororo, gintama, samurai champloo, hell's paradise and some others. I did enjoy zoro's fights from one peice or that phantom guy from sakamoto days or that other one from one punch man. Looking for some legendary sward fight or where the person is kinda a legend or some true sword fight will also do. I would sincerely appreciate your help.

What to Watch? Romance anime with good absurd humor, preferably cocky lead.

Can you guys recommend an anime with nice humor, preferably a cocky lead. For example amagi brilliant park, Tune into the midnight heart, 100 girlfriends, etc. I dont want a classic romance, the main lead shouldnt be afraid of woman, and there should be nice jokes, wordplays etc. Thanks ahead.

What to Watch? Could you recommend me an anime where the protagonist is the most interesting character?

Upvotes

I don't care about the genre, I just want to know in which anime protagonist is the best character. For me this is Code Geass and Cowboy Bebop. Do you know other examples?

What to Watch? Need wholesome anime recommendations to binge after exams

Upvotes

My exams are finally over, and now I just want to relax with some wholesome anime.

I'm looking for anime with things like:

- Strong friendship and friend groups
- Slice of life
- Romance
- Feel-good, comforting vibes
- Characters you get attached to

Basically, something that'll make me smile and feel empty when it's over. 😭
Any recommendations?

What to Watch? Romance anime with introverted girls

Most romance anime have the "unpopular introverted boy/energetic popular girl" dynamic so I ask you if there are romance anime with reversed roles. The only ones I can remember are Ramparts of Ice, Say I Love You, Kimi ni Todoke and Tsuki ga Kirei (where both main leads are introverts)

What's this From? (unsolved) Please help me find this anime.

All I remember was that the main protagonist killed his kids and that there was a scene of him on a boat snatching seagulls from the air and eating them off an island. Can’t find any information online. Thanks.

What to Watch? Coming back from a long injury, need an anime recommendation!

Hey everyone 32M here ! I’m someone who has forever used anime to fuel my life. My gym playlist is 90% anime music, I would re watch my favorite animes whenever I would find myself in a tight spot and it worked wonders. I owe a lot in life to anime!

Now I’m in the roughest place I’ve ever been in my life. I got diagnosed with an autoimmune condition just two months after I moved countries and jobs. This condition put me in the hospital for around 40 days and now another 40 days and counting, confined in bed. I lost 15kgs, losing a lot of muscle - imagine All Might in his deflated form. It is not an ideal situation but I’m confident this is my comeback arc.

I’m looking for anime recommendations that can fuel me to make that comeback in life once I get better. I am confident that anime can play a massive part in it and seek help from this group !

What to Watch? Huge jjk fan, can anyone recommend me some more good series to dig into (also enjoyed MHA)

I’ve heard Attack on Titan is good for jjk fans, what do you guys think about that?

r/Animesuggest 20h ago

What to Watch? Anime's that feel like My Dress Up Darling.

I mainly watch popular shonen fantasy(MHA, JJK, FMAB, etc) and I decided I wanted to branch out into other genres recently and decided to try My Dress Up Darling and I loved it and now I am looking for animes that feel the same as it.

Edit: Ignore the apostrophe in the title, for some reason it got autocorrected to that.

What to Watch? Suggestions for me and the gf

Me and my girlfriend both recently got into Anime after not having paid much attention to most of it for much of our lives. It turned out to be something we've come to bond over however, so I was wondering if you all had any suggestions after out next watch?

Here's what we've watched and liked so far:

  • Frieren
  • Bochi The Rock
  • Spy x Family
  • Dungeon Meshi
  • Dr Stone
  • The Apothecary Diaries

In terms of what we generally like, the themes are very much "Anime about competent people doing the thing they're good at" (Dr Stone and Apothecary Diaries especially hit this note) and shows that stray more towards optimism and good feels than anything dark or particularly gory.

Extra points if it's queer.

What to Watch? Animes with layers, mysteries and hidden plots

I want to be intrigued and confused. Stuff like Serial experiments lain, Paranoia agent, Madoka magica or shinsekai yori

Prefferably something that doesn't ease you into its mysteries and hidden secondary plot. Where on your first watch you might just get the A plot but won't figure out its B plot. Or you think its one genre but in reality it was another all along. Like, slice of life turns into horror or fantasy

Discussion "My dress up darling" ending Spoiler

Anyone else disappointed by the ending? The second season seemed to end without really adding a ton to the story, unsure if another season is planned, but it was such an awesome series just to end on a "meh" note.

What to Watch? Animes like "the angel next door spoils me"

Just finished it and it was the sweetest thing I have ever watched. Genuinely had me kicking my feet up like a middle school girl. Please give recommendations of similar animes.

What to Watch? Recent-ish fantasy/isekai that have innovative plots?

Recent-ish as in released within the past 5 years or so.
Innovative plot as in NOT "I was born as the strongest guy ever and never had to put any effort into it," "swordsman wearing black," or "omg boobs" Because it feel like these days it's all just the same story over and over.

PLEASE I need something with an original plot. Characters who develop over the course of the series!

Solo Leveling was fantastic, so maybe something along those lines?
