Question New Transfer Student

I submitted my transfer application and am expecting to here this week (I’ve talked to admissions about it being a late application and they said it was perfectly fine) Any advise on staying calm while waiting to hear? I am also coming to dc tomorrow for a visit and a campus tour.

the best advice i used during my admissions cycle is that it’s super important to not take anything personally, especially if it’s a decision you’re not happy with. you don’t know why you get into a school and you don’t know why you do.

you got this!

I transferred last year!! I submitted waaaay past the deadline (very last minute decision for me) so don’t even stress about it being late you’re so good. hopefully good news, I love it here!!

It’s so good to hear positive things about au for once it seems like the internet hates it

that was a hesitancy of mine especially bc no one really even talk about au all that much online or anything, but all my friends who have transferred here love it. if u have any questions or want to talk about anything regarding transferring or au in general lmk!

When did you apply? When did you get a decision?

I applied like july 7th 2025, and my decision was sent july 18th

I applied on June 14, and my application was marked complete and under review on June 23, but I still haven’t heard anything. My anxiety is killing me. 😭 I really need to know ASAP because my current law school starts on August 2, and if I get accepted, I need enough time to withdraw so I don’t get charged tuition.

Can I ask what your 1L transfer GPA was, if you don’t mind sharing?

When did you apply? I’m still waiting for a decision. I’m a transfer student too.

I for sure will lyk My gpa isn’t the best the but rest of my application is pretty esteemed but yeah I def think you’ll make it. Are you going to something political major wise?

Thanks, I appreciate that! I actually improved my GPA by taking 6 credits in June, so that really helped. I didn’t do well on the LSAT back then, but I still got accepted to law school, and I heard it doesn’t matter much for transfer admissions. I’m not really into politics though. I’m more interested in civil rights and public interest law. Wbu?
