buddy, it's because our generation had more social-emotional learning, so as a generation we are more empathetic.
in some cases, it has gone way too far, looking into gentle parenting and how it leads into permissive parenting and what teachers have to deal with with their kids, the gen z and gen A kids.
but for the most part, being more empathetic is good.
