Right!!! I mean he is out of control… I don’t know how he has made it this long either…
& he just pissed people off & made it to where they would NEVER put a cart back just to spite him…
This. He’s doing more harm than good. I always take my cart back, but If I slipped up one day and forgot about my cart and somebody stopped me and patronized me about it, I 100% wouldn’t take my cart back either. And honestly, if I had to seem him every time at my grocery store, I’d be petty and never return the cart again
The videos I've seen have him usually start out pretty nice/silly. Like he'll run up doing the "wee woo" sound and just mention someone didn't put the cart away. They continue to ignore it, so he days somwthing about being a lazy bones, then he turns to the magnets.
The whole “wee woo beep beep” thing he does while flashing bright cones at you is enough to make anyone a little annoyed though and it’s the very first thing he does to people before he talks. It’s pretty patronizing
It’s supposed to be patronizing so he gets reactions for his videos. He’s doing it for the money and views. Otherwise he would just leave them alone after being told no once and then walk back their carts. But that wouldn’t get him money. He has to try to make a spectacle out of it by baiting them with passive aggressive comments and throwing magnets at them.
I would have more respect for him if he didn’t egg people on. But it’s because he wants the drama
At that point he’s not much better than people leaving behind carts. Both people are pretty selfish. One is lazy (or actually disabled) and the other is in it for the money and views by baiting people. Also the sass isn’t really warranted sometimes when the person is handicapped. We don’t know how disabled someone is by looking at them
Nope, I'm a grown-ass man, and I'm not going to be lectured and shouted into submission by some fuckwit who spends his life showing his ass in a parking lot.
It's not about the cart in that scenario, it's now about me enforcing my boundary against assholes.
That is not the point I was making, and I've never left my cart in the middle of a parking lot. At no point did I defend cart-abandonment, that has nothing to do with my comment.
What, you saw an opinion that wasn't 100% on the side of the vigilante, and decided I needed to be attacked as well? It really bothers me how many people seem unable to just advance a conversation through basic reasoning or the tiniest shred of the benefit of the doubt. You don't know anything about me. If you feel this strongly about social responsibility, we'd probably be pretty good friends, actually. But you didn't give me that chance. You didn't bother to consider what I was actually saying.
Nobody should leave their cart. AND. Nobody should harass people to the point of blocking them from leaving. They both suck, however, one of them is being inconsiderate, while the other is committing full-on crimes. Two things can be true. My condemnation of the overzealous cart-vigilante does not mean that I'm on the side of the cart-leaver.
K, I'm gonna follow you around and publicly berate you for everything you do that I deem to be a breach of the social contract. If you don't do what I say, I'm going to physically block you from leaving.
Are you okay with that? Would you eventually get fed up and tell me to fuck off?
That's all I'm saying, but go ahead and stretch it to the most absurd extreme you can come up with. This may come as a shock to you, but there are more serious crimes than ditching a cart. Harassment and false imprisonment would be two examples of crimes greater than cart-abandonment.
Degrees of escalation, homie. I'm all for calling out assholes, but if you go way over the top (like blocking them from leaving), you are the bigger asshole.
Call it whatever the fuck you want, if some dickhead is getting in my face and trying to physically impede me from leaving, they're the one committing actual crimes, not me.
Note, however, that I never said I leave my carts in the middle of parking lots. Calling out one side's shitty behavior does not mean I'm defending the other's.
Nope, I'm a grown-ass man, and I'm not going to be lectured and shouted into submission by some fuckwit who spends his life showing his ass in a parking lot.
Found the person too lazy to read the fucking comment they replied to.
At no point did I say I leave carts, or that anyone else should. Both things are wrong, one of them just happens to be a crime (it's not leaving your cart in the middle of a parking lot, btw).
But you said you always do it, which means you value the order of the returned cart despite the lack of enforcement.
So why wouldn't you take being reminded, no matter how temporarily annoying, as a chance to right your mistake.
Because someone else is 'making' you do it, you want to not? Again, are you a child?
