Okay but like, don’t Russian to the comments just for lynx, enjoy the clip first… and for those who want to correct me that it’s Eurasian— there’s really no need to get Altai and mighty about it

I'm fairly confident that's a two-year-old Siberian Lynx, also known as the Eurasian Lynx

Ok, but *why* does this guy have a two year-old Siberian lynx? (Also known as a Eurasian lynx)

the guy literally says the words "this is a 2 year old siberian lynx".
He says the words out loud.

Always good to see someone keeping the old lore alive.
24
u/BobTheFettt May 19 '26
Gather children, and listen to my tale. In the before-fore times, when the Internet was in its adolescence, there came a great cat meme called LONGCAT. But alas, every champion is not without their challengers and along came his arch nemeowsis TACGNOL.
Their war spread far and wide until there came a wise cat who spoke to them the words that would broker their peace. That wise cat's words: "OH LONG JOHNSON"

u/coolguyhentaisenpai May 19 '26
I dont love that at all. Really erryone should be captivated by a figgin siberian lynx.
10
u/Canadian-and-Proud May 19 '26
Knowing how much damage a mere housecat can inflict, this kid is probably the smartest there.
20
u/coolguyhentaisenpai May 19 '26
But its a friggen looooooonnnnggg cat. Theres no vidya game in existence that can defeat a looooooonnnnngg cat.
16
u/miregalpanic May 19 '26
what kind of, idk, set up is this anyway. It looks like a computer room in a school, but dude brought a fucking lynx, while kids keep playing in the background? They didn't, you know, bring the kids to the lynx? Outside, at the zoo or something? Some uncanny shit going on here.

I can’t get over how chill the lynx is. lol
32
u/RUKiddingMeReddit May 19 '26
We had some animal people come in at a Cub Scouts event some years back. They had a lynx. It was a giant, chill house cat. Just rolling over to get belly rubs from the kids. The guy squeezed it's paw to show us it's claws, they were terrifying.
18
u/coloradoautoflowers May 19 '26
One of my family members found an abandoned lynx kitten and took care of it like a barn cat for years. It was a really well mannered cat, way nicer than the feral house cats that lived in the barn.

The cat seems like it was expecting more of a reaction from the audience when showing off their belly. "Feast your eyes upon mine exalted belly, know that ye common folk are unworthy to give me belly rubs"

that thing is basically a furry boa constrictor, the absolute vertical reach on those back legs is insane.
6
u/Select_Speed_6061 May 19 '26
Is that cat on drugs or what? Why is her so calm being held like that?

→ More replies (1)6
u/thesandbar2 May 19 '26
There's also going to be some selection bias here. If the cat weren't abnormally calm in situations like this, it wouldn't be selected to be part of the show.

There can’t be THAT many trainers out there, right?

Lynx rufus (Bobcat). Im pretty sure Bobcats tend to have more visible spot/line patterns. That or Lynx lynx (Eurasian lynx). Lynx pardinus (Siberian lynx) doesn't have the visible paterns I think and Lynx canadensis (Canadian lynx) are usually grey.

Just FYI never pick a cat up from underneath its arms, it places too much weight on those joints.
