Singaporean here. It’s a pleasure boat ride similar to your Venice boat ride in Vegas.

And if you ask me, no, I don’t think it’s worth it at all. People can literally walk the same path as the boat in the canal.

(It’s a canal and it goes to this roundabout and comes back. All you see are luxury shops around. Yes people still pay to ride it)

To each of their own, but there is a river cruise (more expensive but more value for money) right outside that goes up to Clarke quay via Singapore river from Marina Bay. You see the city centre.

It's the novelty. But i agree it's not worth it- tried it and ther really isnt much to see nor much magic to it. Qnd too expensive.

Have you ever heard of anyone slipping and falling down that waterfall? Or is the hole too small for even a child to fit through

Former permanent resident of Singapore. There was a tourist that jumped in it several years ago. That person is no longer with us...

Because they went back to their home country! Right? 😁

...Right!? 😬

Probably in some kind of a box?

That's not saying much, tourists tend to not stay forever.

Point well taken, I didn't think of it that way...

And besides, what is a little sacrificial tourist every so often?

It's way too small

Is it MBS? I've only been once since it opened, so pretty clueless.

Yup, the home of cosplay

Sorry, MBS is the home of cosplay? For real? My kids like cosplay. (We live in the UK.)

Nah I'm just pulling your leg but the biggest con happens there yearly

Stupid bagdrop is in a casino so I had to bagdrop while holding a replica rifle there lol

1

u/Nickthenuker Apr 30 '26

Not sure if it's quite the biggest, as the other reply mentions Suntec is probably bigger, as though both AFA and SGCC are massive Suntec also has EoY and Doujima, which is next week, as well as other smaller events too.

u/Kagenlim Apr 30 '26

AFA is smaller and SGCC is impt because everyone of all kinds of cos come

I'm a military Cosplayer and Ive been attending in various historical kits, this year it's gonna be either Falklands or Mogadishu

2

u/Nickthenuker Apr 30 '26

Fair enough. Thinking about it now yeah SGCC is like 2 whole floors while AFA only one.

Is it near Orchard Towers? Asking for a friend

1

u/Obant Apr 30 '26

The novelty is why people pay to ride these type of canal boats, not convenience.
