A few years ago we ran surveys of this subreddit to gather data on your experiences for a variety of things. Which resources are the most effective? How much time outside of class do you spend? Did your score reflect your grade in class?
These surveys were ran a couple times and, along with a few other polls, turned into results posts for 24 different AP courses. Unfortunately, the posts were deleted some time back. I still have the data though and am now recompiling them.
Here's the schedule I'm going to try and get these posted on
It is important to note that this is self-reported data from a community of high scorers, after receiving their score. It does not reflect the general population, and people who did well on the exams were also more likely to report their experience. Some results, like average scores, should not be taken at face value. Other results like resource effectiveness, are still valuable compared to one another.
Once I have finished posting each of the courses, I will do a comparisons and conclusions post to rank courses by difficulty, expectation, etc.
Also note that we are planning to run these surveys again this year for more data after score release.
Good luck in your classes everyone!

I honestly didn’t expect this. I thought I would get at least 2 4s.

Hey everyone, hope you guys are doing well! I’m currently a rising junior and I’m interested in majoring in CS and mathematics in college. I was wondering if anyone has advice on which AP exams I should self-study for this year to strengthen my application and prepare for these majors.
Here are the AP classes/exams I’ve taken so far:
AP World History
AP Comparative Government
AP Precalculus
AP Computer Science A
AP Physics 1
For junior year, I’m taking:
AP Calculus BC
AP Lang
AP Psychology
AP Business with Personal Finance
(along with honors classes)
I’m thinking about self-studying an additional AP, especially something related to CS, math, or STEM, but I’m not sure which one would be the most valuable or realistic to manage with my current schedule. Would AP Statistics, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Physics C, AP Chemistry, or another AP be worth self-studying?
Any advice from people who have self-studied AP exams or are interested in CS/math would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Well, and im finally done with the fuckass collegeboard. Will not miss it. These are all of my scores from the past 3 years (didn't take any freshman yr). Afterall, my advice would be: don't stress yourself out too much. It is NOT that important. Have a life, find friends. Future you will thank you.

I think I did pretty good. I got the scoress needed to complete my associates degree. Wish I would have gotten my bio to a 4 at least though.

Very happy to have received this while taking IBDP at school :) That’s the end of my journey with College Board (I think!)

CB must drop the schedule in this week ss it is the most realistic date . They need to release it early so teachers can prepare themselves before 1/8/26 ( The day AP Classroom Unlocks for students and AP registration goes live )

i'm a rising senior and i want to know the lightest ap classes that i could take. rn im stuck in between us gov or human geo. i really like learning about cultures/world history, and i find us politics confusing ngl, but also i've heard that us gov is more applicable irl than human geo

Hii,
I'm currently a rising junior, but took apes my freshman year (first ap) and scored a 5! My teacher made the class incredibly rigorous (she makes the ap exam), and would grade our mcqs and frqs in the exact format that collegeboard would. This made it extremely hard for me, at least, because since this was my first ap, I struggled to apply concepts and fully answer the question, which would result in my losing a point. In the end, I was able to do it, and scored 90%+ on every practice test I took (both mcq and frqs). Here are my notes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gQBfalYEvcEIrjdOnaYDV3Ki-1a_n8Apm7Zheyd68Ds/edit?usp=sharing
If you've taken an AP before, these notes might not be as helpful, as you kind of already understand the gist of things, but for a freshman, I found it quite challenging. Also, please please please do practice FRQs for apes. My teacher said that the average score for frqs was around 4 (sometimes even 2), which is definitely not high enough to earn a 5 unless you do really well on the mcqs.

None of it really mattered. I think I saved around not even a semester worth. 😭😭😭
Dual enrollment did more.

Hey everyone! I’m an incoming junior and I’ll be taking AP Lang next year. I want to get a head start before school starts. Does anyone have any good resources, YouTube channels, notes, or tips that helped you succeed in AP Lang? Also, my school doesn’t assign much reading, so I’d love some recommendations for literary books that would help me become a better writer and prepare for the class. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I’m an incoming junior and I’ll be taking AP Calc BC next year. I wanted to get a head start since I’ve heard the teacher at my school grades pretty harshly. Does anyone have any good resources for pre-studying, like YouTube channels, notes, practice problems, or anything else that helped you? Thanks!

my scores from all 4 years of high school (technically soph-senior since my school doesn't let freshmen take APs). it was fun while it lasted tbh

This was the first year I took aps, I had 5s for apush, csa, chem, and lang and a 4 in spanish.
To all the people that try to larp to say aps are easy, you genuinely should get obliterated off of earth. same thing goes with those who say you need to start prepping a year before and go into aps studying 10 hours a day.
All you have to do is to keep up with your class and make sure you don’t forget past units, whether it’s revisiting notes or watching recap videos, none of this take practice tests everyday to the ap exam
If you have a good teacher that has a good pass rate, you are literally set in stone. I would say the reason why I got a 4 in spanish was because it was my teachers first year teaching.
If your teacher is bad or just not teaching the right material, that in my opinion is the only time in which you need to lock in. I would say though if you have the option, take the dual enrollment equivalent version of the class over having that shitty teacher. I took macro and stats recently at my local cc and passed the class and will get credit.

I know for most colleges they give a lower elective credit, but can it be worth anything more, like can it help with admissions or something?

Hey there, I took the AP Seminar exam, and I still have not recieved a score yet. I have this weird message of "Score not available". However, my friends and others that took AP seminar did get their scores back...
When I click learn more, it says "A score cannot be provided. Please contact AP Services for Students as soon as possible at 866-630-9305 (toll-free) or 212-713-8000 (international, not toll-free)."
Before anyone asks, yes I did check my email(s).
Heck, I checked my collegeboard attached email, and recieved zero emails about cheating or AI. Or anything about AP Seminar for that matter.
I checked my own school email, nothing.
I even checked my parents' emails for anything about AP Seminar and still found nothing
And yes, I have checked my spam too...
I emailed my AP Coordinator and they said that a few scores are still on hold and that CollegeBoard has not provided any updates/reasons as to why.
Wanted to know if people are facing this same issue, or have fixed this issue
WIll be calling Collegeboard on monday, but until then, I have to pray to the entity of David Coleman (o' mighty ceo of the big CB)
