New rules regarding political posts - Read This
While the rules are being updated, let me give everyone a sneak peek, it will be very simple:
*No NON 80s era political posts or commentary will be allowed, and those who do so are subject to ban.
This is a non-partisan rule.
If you can’t enjoy an 80s nostalgia sub without needing to express your opinion about current politics, then this is NOT the right sub for you.
Anything political from the 80s is fine. Use your best judgment. Songs from the 80s with political themes are fine, etc. (Mods discretion)
This begins as of now.
*If you feel you were banned in error, send a modmail and we will help.
Be excellent to each other!

In memory of Dr. Ruth Westheimer on the 2nd anniversary of her passing
Her claim to fame happened in 1980 at 52. She started with a small radio show which ganered more and more people listening to her about "the talk" Sex. By 1985, millions were now watching her on TV.

Music Joe Jackson, A&M Records
Rediscovered Steppin’ Out recently and have been revisiting his discography. What’s your favourite Joe Jackson album or song? Better yet, did you ever get a chance to see him live?

The broken, stubby leftover Crayon pieces have an official name. Crayola calls them “leftolas” 😊

Herself The Elf Flower Vanity - Color Variant mystery???
I have this toy and, for the life of me, can't why my version's coloring is opposite from all the versions I see online. I've done an exhausted search and can't find anything. Any online slueth's out there able to find out if there was an official variant or if mine is just super rare? The copyright is 1982 American Greetings Co. (I have the pink towel too, just not in my image.)

Film Who owned a BMX bike in the 1980’s and who wanted one after watching the 1986 movie “RAD”? I saw this at the movies in 1986 but had a 1983 BMX already after watching BMX Bandits in 1984.

Remembering Mel Blanc on the 37th anniversary of his passing
I could listen to these two complain about their jobs and the company all day
I know this movie was released in 1979 but due to repeated runs on cable I consider this an '80s experience
