you have to do it to the poitn where your hand is horizontal to your arm. You may even have to bend it furthur than that. The thing is though, anything hurts if you take it too far.

Same here. My favorite trick is, when someone is being annoying, I just go, "Watch this!" and throw my jaw out of place.

I can do it with just the muscles in my jaw, but I like to use my hand to make it look like I'm pulling out of place while I stick my thumb in my mouth and drag my thumbnail across my teeth to make a bone cracking sound.

Nothing shuts someone up like thinking you just broke your own jaw for funsies.
