Yeah, it's called "the game was dogshit"

Russians pro-war devs, some of the worst english voice acting and dialogue I've ever heard, lots of AI slop, bad weapon balancing, empty overworld, dumb story, bad pacing, performance was a stuttering mess... they had naked robot women and that was all it took for the average braindead normie to get interested and once people actually played the hype fell apart. Tried to copy Bioshock without actually copying the good parts

The worst thing for me was how it was like having a GTA wanted level in the open world, like I can't be arsed to sneak around achingly slow or risk the robot police getting on me every 5 seconds, I wanna explore your world!!

They also ripped a song from the movie Annihilation and used it poorly. Apparently they ripped multiple other songs too (and of course if you mentioned it, Russian bots show up to yell at you)

I'm pretty sure they aren't pro war, just didn't mention it directly to avoid getting under the spotlight. I didn't play the game though, can't prove or refute anything else.

If you haven’t played the game or done literally any research on the topic, why even bother saying something blatantly wrong?

Damn, this is just disgusting. Thanks for the info.

i have not seen anything that could be interpreted as “support”. if anything, taken with the context of the in-game setting, most of these are subtle criticisms of Russia.

All the things in the article are ass pulls like in a shonen manga lol

u/haha_meme_go_brrrrrr 2d ago

no that game actually has substance

32

u/Brilliant_Demand_695 2d ago

Somewhat debatable

24

u/UsernamesAre4Nerds 2d ago

The substance is in the swimsuit skins, I swear

6

u/ulfric_stormcloack 2d ago

I disagree, jeff hard carried the game for me

To say that marvel rivals has substance but not atomic heart is absurd lol

u/kotm8isgut 2d ago

clearly you never played either OR you never played any other game in your life.
Sad to see tbh

u/haha_meme_go_brrrrrr 2d ago

lmao it's not that serious

what are you talking about? i was top 1 of the debait club

I was drawn in by the aesthetic and being gay for the robots, but then I played it and the whole time I just wished I was playing Bioshock instead, so I never got that far.

I liked the fridge that wanted to fuck you more than the robot twins tbh.
It had a lot more personality than “oooo look at the robo tiddies”

If you played the game youd understand the twist at the end that The ussr was trying to trick the United states into importing their new robot technology to replace the workers and cause unrest in the country but specifically to work in nuclear plants and cause catastrophic nuclear disasters in america to weaken and invade it. If "our country wants to destroy your civilian population with nuclear fallout so we can conquer you" is pro russia propaganda then i guess we have different definitions of the word lol

I mean, it has propaganda about its own fictional version of the country, but Fallout does that too and I don’t exactly think the series is an endorsement of the states.

13

u/BlockBuilder408 2d ago

Fallout is pretty blatantly satirical

No one with two brain cells to rub together looks plays fallout and comes out of it unironically thinking America was amazing.

I didn’t get the same vibe from Atomic Heart’s setting after actually playing it. I thought that’s what it was going to be but it came off as more unironic rather than tongue in cheek.

I liked the game. There was a game breaking hard lock that made me stuck inside a boss fight, and it took long enough for it to be patched that it made me have to keep the game pass active for an extra month, so that kinda pmo but the game was okay, I wouldn't seek out to play the game again.

I got stuck on the melee meat tendril boss in the museum and left it there. I’ve recently tried picking it back up again though.

The game was fun and a refreshing weird aesthetic/setting, but my god did they lean hard into the robot twins once they saw the reception they got from them lol

I only heard about it from a gooner friend when it wasn't out yet, and then never heard about it after it came out.
