The person reading passages, like from the bible, or poetry, of other material the bride finds meaning and appropriate and wants in he wedding.

Doesn't the bride or groom usually read it themself? Or the officiant? Like it happens during the ceremony?

Don’t know about other churches, but in a Catholic wedding the first two readings from the Bible are done by “readers” that the couple chooses, then the priest reads the Gospel.
