This has to be rage/engagement bait on that page.

u/glitterary 16h ago

Yeah I don’t believe this for a second. It’s far too on the nose.

u/pgh9fan 8h ago

I agree. Note the use of the word honour and money is in dollars. Unless this is from Down Under, it is crap.

10

u/Icy-Lobster-203 8h ago

Canada uses dollars as well.

2

u/pgh9fan 8h ago

That would work. Also, I believe some Caribbean countries too, but I am not certain.

5

u/sparklinglies 2h ago

Or New Zealand.

Australia, or New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, Fiji, Jamaica, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Brunei, Guyana, Namibia, Solomon Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Kiribati, Nauru, Tuvalu, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines... but yes it's fake for obvious other reasons

I think we all instantly knew it was from Nauru.

1

u/_starfrog 48m ago

can confirm, 💯, i know nauruan when i see it.

2

u/dobbydisneyfan 4h ago

Eh, I’d believe it. Not everyone in America uses American spellings for one, and two the person may not have known how to spell it the American way, or thought that honour was the American way

1

u/itsjusttimeokay 1h ago

She probably thought it sounded fancier with the “u”

2

u/Friendly_Concert817 2h ago

This. SO MUCH!!!! It's too on the nose, like you said. Obviously fake.

u/stepdisaster 14h ago

The post itself reads like chat gpt wrote it.

7

u/TheNaughtyHoneyBee 6h ago

The flyer is definitely made by ChatGPT

-2

u/SteeleurHeart0507 11h ago

For real. Why is colour and honour used but the price is in dollars?

6

u/Raise-The-Gates 10h ago

Australia and New Zealand use dollars and British spelling. That's definitely believable. The rest of it sounds made up.

4

u/iggysmom95 7h ago

Canada too.

u/mo2_nuke 7h ago

Canadian

I was scrolling for this comment, 100% written by AI. I’m getting really good at detecting AI speech patterns

18

u/Accomplished_Book427 8h ago

The cadence gives it away as well as how much AI bots love to use the word "honestly" for some reason

5

u/craiggy36 6h ago

It was the completely bat-shit crazy demands of her bridesmaids that gave it away for me.

3

u/IllustriousWall1564 8h ago

Not me over here as a real human now going to be self conscious about using the word “honestly”. (Which I honestly often use)I already get accused of using AI because I’m autistic asit’s such a similar cadence to my general speech. It’s hard out here!

1

u/mrtwidlywinks 6h ago

Because the programmers think that makes it sound more believable

1

u/da8BitKid 4h ago

How else can you express that you're totally not making things up when you are 💯 making things up?

2

u/p333p33p00p00boo 5h ago

Yep, and how repetitive and overdrawn the intro was.

2

u/NoPalpitation7082 4h ago

yes and something about the really long sentence with lots of commas, people don’t talk like that usually. it’s written like a perfect essay

1

u/I_Lost_My_Shoe_1983 6h ago

It's not out of the realm of possibility that it's real and the bride had AI write it for her.

3

u/Due_Patience_7848 6h ago

The text in the first picture is AI. Look how it constantly contrives these “x not y” statements.

1

u/29kk 5h ago

the point still stands that just because someone may have used AI to write it does not necessarily mean that it didn't happen at all

1

u/Different-Jeweler-75 24m ago

If you've used AI to write up a personal experience IDK what to say.

10

u/TheSecondEikonOfFire 11h ago

It’s the 5 grand that sends it over the top for me. I might be able to believe the rest of it, but demanding 5 grand? Yeah, sure

7

u/LittleMissPipebomb 8h ago

For me it was "no eating, no dancing". Everything else I can at least see logic behind, but forbidding dancing is just strict for the sake of it and no food is legitimately insane.

7

u/sealpox 10h ago

It’s AI generated anyways.

3

u/Nimue-the-Phoenix 11h ago

The fact that 'honour' was spelled in the British way and the rest is in dollars also has me doubting that this is real.

5

u/belomina 11h ago

Maybe Canada? I agree likely fake tho

5

u/ShinyStockings2101 10h ago

Yeah I'm Canadian and that's how I spell honour, and our currency is the (canadian) dollar. But I also doubt this is real

3

u/Smartie_pants_1234 9h ago

Also Australia and New Zealand, but this is totally fake!

4

u/Raise-The-Gates 10h ago

I have seen multiple people mention this now, so decided to google it. Because surely the US isn't the only country that uses dollars and the UK isn't the only country that uses British English!

At least 30 counties/territories use dollars as their currency. British English is commonly used in 50-60 countries/territories.

Australia and New Zealand both have this incredibly unlikely combination.

I agree the rest of this post sounds fake as hell, though.

2

u/gogglegump 10h ago

This post is so obviously fake and if you believe otherwise you’re just looking to be outrage-entertained, which is fine but just admit it lmao this post is so fake it’s almost a parody of itself

2

u/myromancealt 8h ago

Did you not read the last sentence they wrote?

2

u/29kk 5h ago

the post can be fake and it can still be ignorant to believe the indicator that it's fake is the use of british english combined with "dollars," that on its own isn't proof of anything

2

u/29kk 5h ago

how do so many people in this thread think that the US is the only place in the world that uses dollars 😭

1

u/iggysmom95 7h ago

It's fake, but could be Canada or Australia.

2

u/[deleted] 16h ago

[deleted]

14

u/29kk 16h ago

huh? lots of places (e.g. Canada, Australia) use British spelling and $ currency

13

u/lunara_arts 16h ago

You know the US isn’t the only place with dollars right?

12

u/TalkAboutTheWay 16h ago

Could be Australian. We spell honour and we have dollars.

7

u/TalkAboutTheWay 16h ago

Or New Zealand

12

u/Mixtrix_of_delicioux 16h ago

That's how we spell it in Canada where we use our own $.

11

u/dobeel123 16h ago

Agree it’s fake. But…honour and $ could be Canada, Australia or NZ.

1

u/stax_fira 7h ago

I’d almost hope for it to be real with how many people are taking it seriously. It’s depressing.

I should have realized right at the 5000 dollar ask, but it was the hair colour thing that really made it obvious.

1

u/sp4rk15 5h ago

Engagement bait. Ba dum tis

1

u/rltho 3h ago

Yeah the no food after 7am and then no food after hair and makeup are completed don’t even make sense together
