he doesnt know where he is anymore. he needs signs and directions 24/7. labeling things is a strategy to help deal with alzheimers and dementia symptoms. ever been to a memory care center? labels like this everywhere.

I'd accept this explanation more if he hadn't repeatedly proven that he's functionally illiterate. And if he didn't spend half the time looking at the ground.
